Re: American Airlines Wants to Grow in Charlotte

As expected. I’m still looking for all those people blabbing to me CLT would’ve been de-hubbed by now. AA should be picking up 5 or 6 gates on A concourse this summer. That should help them out a lot. I believe DFW will take a back seat behind Charlotte at some point in the future. On peak travel d...

Re: American Airlines Wants to Grow in Charlotte

Your use of the word prefer WN over AA outside of the greater LA Area I disagree with. Sometimes it’s just the only option. I think your reading to much into that. HP/US/AA KNOW Well how compete with WN. WN seems focused on international flights right now CLT I’m not sure so much. WN is the only ai...

Re: American Airlines Wants to Grow in Charlotte

Definitely encouraging information. Don't think CLT will surpass DFW or ATL but it is exciting to watch the hub grow. United is missing out big time with no hub in the south

Re: American Airlines Network Thread 2018

DFW-MDT needs to happen yesterday! I'm hoping for a route announcement for South Africa this year. Both DFW and ORD are very gate constrained. I imagine we'll see more CLT-midwest growth as I think those routes have done very well. I'd really like to see more ORD-Europe return to year-round service...

What's happening at CLT- 2018

Just wanted to start a thread about what's going on at CLT. This is a great place to discuss the ongoing construction at the airport and any route news and predictions. Service to TUS starts soon, and service to ACK, SBN and ECP has been announced in 2018. Should be an exciting year at CLT.

We'll see an EK DTW-DXB A380 shuttle announced tomorrow, right? Its been discussed here! And DTW-SYD, DTW-DEL, DTW-BOM, DTW-CTU, DTW-ANC, DTW-TOL... Wait, CLT was supposed to be dehubbed....because of lack of demand! AS hub in Dayton, WN focus city in Lansing, GUM-NYC 777, Aeromexico to India, Brit...

AA would go ballistic if Delta launched CLT-CDG

What a timely manner to announce both routes. The fact that both routes were mentioned on this thread proves the credibility of the contributors

Re: Potential New AA routes from CLT

What routes from CLT can we expect to be upgauged from all regional to having at least some mainline? I'd suggest starting a new thread for this. ROC will have 1 mainline in the summer. MHT has always had mainline on and off. As for current all-regional routes that could go mainline, Id guess CVG a...

Re: Potential New AA routes from CLT

Back in the early 2000s, when US made a big push to increase their presence in the Caribbean, they attempted CLT-LRM/KIN, both of which were discontinued. CLT-GUA was discontinued back in 2008 or so. I recall there were several issues at FIS in CLT regarding the flight as well. US also attempted CL...

Re: What's going on at RDU - 2018

Don't understand why People in Raleigh want all these sporadic routes on different carriers. If I was RDU I'd be more focused in building up a network on delta to include connecting opportunities as a reason for a flight to china DL doesn't even fly to China from JFK, why would it fly to China from...

Re: Potential New AA routes from CLT

CLT has had gains and losses from US and AA. US used to serve LGW, but now they have 14 weekly flights to LHR. Out of the four Europe routes that were launched and then cut (MAN, BRU, and LIS) BCN is still operated which is good. FRA was cut from 14 weekly to seven weekly (US also made PHL-FRA seas...

Re: Potential New AA routes from CLT

CLT would be better off diversifying its carrier options rather than continuing to put all its eggs in the AA basket. No way, I live in CLT and fly often and want the most direct flights with the most frequencies possible. Having the AA fortress achieves this goal. Only non AA carriers I would actu...

Re: Potential New AA routes from CLT

AA should not add any more flights at CLT until it clears up its airfield congestion issues. I am officially over the stupid taxi times in CLT. I have started praying that my flight arrives in B - that is the only way to avoid a 35-45 minute taxi in. I flew AA731 LHR-CLT today and we landed about 2...

Perhaps RNO and FAT at least seasonally (RNO - skiing and FAT - Yosemite). AA proved that there is a market for these types of flights from CLT by adding seasonal Saturday service to MTJ and RAP. RNO and FAT would be great adds for the reasons that you mentioned. Both would definitely be Saturday s...

Any chance of AA flights deeper into the Caribbean/Central/South America? Such as... BOG, GUA, KIN? Probably not South America seeing as AA cut CLT-GRU and CLT-GIG right after AA and US merged. The carribean is always an option for growth out of CLT as AA can make some seasonal routes year round or...

Potential New AA routes from CLT

What are some possible new routes that AA could operate from CLT? I expect them to fill holes in the network by adding ISP and HVN, along with the possible addition of ECP. Is it possible for AA to launch routes to mid-sized western cities like COS or ABQ? I know they just announced TUS so there mus...
