Embraer has been delivering what they promised on the latest programs: Tucano, E1, E2, KC390... some better than promised and below budget and time. But the guy saw interior fuel tanks and all of a sudden everything is marketing blurb. Embraer havent given me a reason to doubt that what they promise...

Portugal just cancelled the modernization of its C130s fleet. The money will now go to the maintenance and some modification of the fleet to wait for the KC390 to be fully operational. Brazil has a program for the next carrier. Its called Poseidon.
But it will only starts (if it starts) after the Prosub (Brazilian Nuclear Submarine Program) that will be finished only in 2029/2030.
So dont expect Brazil having a carrier before 2035/2040.

All Embraer engineers are pretty busy with 3 huge programs: E2, KC390 and the Gripen.
All of these program will be fully operational by 2021 and the engineers will be free to new programs. So dont expect any announcements before 2021.

E2 has new wings, new engine, new landing gear, new interior, new fbw avionics, new pylons, new horizontal stabilizers, new cabin, new cabin air system, new air cycle machine and new bleed air system. Also the 3 variants will have 3 different new wings. You can say its basically a brand new aircraft.
