I am from Europe and I can't remember the last time I used a bus to get to the airplane. That doesn't mean it doesn't happen though :-) I used bus / stairs combo for both departure and arrival yesterday (in Europe). Yeah but is it that common? Approx. 60% of the parking positions at FRA are apron p...Jump to post
It’s going to be embarrassing for the whole world when the accident cause is unrelated. It will not be embarrassing for anyone. There is circumstantial evidence that both crashes may have something in common and it may have something to do with the aircraft type.Even if the chance is only 1/1000 th...Jump to post
There are e.g. a 1-stop connections on OS (EVN-VIE-LAX) , LO (EVN-WAW-LAX) or SU(EVN-SVO-LAX) .
So i don`t think there is need of a direct flight. Based on the fare i got for above mentioned connections (500-900 Euros return) i don`t think that a direct flight will financially work.
The airlines could simply avoid these situations if they would just take higher fares for A-B-C then for A to B only ! I also flew DUS-MUC-BOS which was half the fare then only MUC-BOS. This is ridicolous and entices passengers to do exactly what the person in this specific case has done ! Yes,their...Jump to post
Will Schonefeld be kept open once Brandenburg opens? Schonefeld serves airlines such as Ryanair whilst Brandenburg can serve legacy carriers. Would mean, passengers can access both services in the same area, and practically be just separate terminals over different airports BER and SXF are the exac...Jump to post
The time difference between central Europe(France,Germany,Scandinavia,Italy,Switzlernad,Netherlands, etc.) and east coast USA is 6-7 hours. The flight time to destinations like ATL,JFK,BOS,YYZ,IAD,MIA,CLT,PHL is between 7:30 and 10:30. So this means there is in fact only a time san of approx. 1 to 3 ...Jump to post
The Western New Year Celebrations are not that popular in Asia. The chinese/asian New Year celebrations are much more important for these people. So i can imagine that there are enough people flying at that time in Asia. In Europe this would never work.Even the usual holiday charter flights(which do d...Jump to post
If they are still serious about TATL, then this is an ideal opportunity. Would finish WOW at the same time. Ryanair are not ''still'' serious about TATL. Iceland is only halfway TATL, and honestly Ryanair is on the wrong side of the pond when it comes to competition. The Europe - Iceland market is ...Jump to post
FR only flies ex major airports if there is a chance to make money.MAD has a ton of free capacities left,so the charges are very likely very low.FRA has offered them some discount cause with the new runway, new terminal capacities and terminal 3 in future they also have a lot of capacity to fill. YOu can clearly see which alliance-partners the 3 US airlines do have in Europe.
AA has most flights to LHR,due to their partner BA.
DL has most flights to AMS/CDG due to their partner AF/KL
Apart from LHR UA has mot flights into FRA due to their partner LH.
So there is no real surprise for me.
Sorry, but me as a passenger have to trust a connection if the airline does sell it to me. Yes,we as experences travellers do think about and check it before booking but this can not be the standard. The responsibility must lie at the airline cause 95% of the people don`t know all airports of the worl...Jump to post
Why should they do it in Frankfurt when the same can be done in Guangzhou for less money? If LH can save money without losing quality..why not? Regarding the delivery: It is not that bad, but there are two things that i don`t like/don`t understand 1.: Why any new livery at all? It wasn`t really nec...Jump to post

MUC days are not 24h. There is a curfew from 22:00 to 6:00 with strongly limited operations. LHR also doesn`t have a 24h day. ;) I checked it and between 22:00 and 6:00 there are approx. 45 to 50 flights arriving and departing. Thats not that much for an airport like LHR.SO this can`t be a reason w...Jump to post
LHR has 476.000 flight movements a year with two runways, LGW has 281.000 with only one runway,
MEX has 449.000 with two runways.
MUC currently has 405.000 movements...so a third runway can`t be that important/necessary to survive as an airport.
In three words: Absolutely chaotic airline I`v had 6 flights with AA so far and there is huge gap between the organizational part and the on board flight experience. Organisation is catastrophic (5 of 6 flights were heavily delayed,2 times we had to be rebooked on other flights/routings due to misse...Jump to post
If the americans live in the Canaries then flights to America might make a bit sense(although i doubt there is enough demand to fill regular flights) but why a HUB ?This would mean that the flights to Europe must be filled as well. And there are already enough options from Europe to the canaries curr...Jump to post
I`m not specifically talking about emplyee saftey,it is more then environmental and people thing. They definitely are less then zero. LH withdrew from Australia already decades ago due to lack of profit. The regular time(mostly wrongly mentioned as winter time) is the one that makes much more sense for us.Most of the biologists, sociologists and psychriatrists say that the regular time is better for us on long terms. I would consider this an upgrade for anyone flying Business class. Much better seats than the A330’s. Isn`t it a upgrade capacitywhise in general? As per seatguru their 330s do carry between 243 and 292 passengers, their 789 carries 294 passengers. So it is capacitywhise a general upgrade. comfortwh...Jump to post
HHN is already dead anyway. The number of passengers has decreased over 40 % since 2007 and also the freight tonnage has decreased over 55 % since 2011. I`ve flown more than 120 times so far in Europe and the US and so far i can`t remember any big difference regarding when the seatbelt signs are switched off or on.
In Europe they are switched on also relatively often/long.
True, but with a bit of creativity those costs can come down significantly. That's the difference between a legacy and an LCC, legacies aren't creative. LCC are especially creative in avoiding taxes or emplyee unions and and in getting subsidies from which authority ever. They do have the most crea...Jump to post

As of now the night ban at FRA is not that big problem for the operations that many people think it is. I`m absolutely convinced that this huge amount of landings of FR after the deadline is due to their too tight flight schedule. It baffles me why the federal government has not taken this issue in its hands, and imposed its authority .....
I still am not clear why the fire suppression problems were not identified and refused during planning before it was built. I guess it happened due to a terrible lack of communication and managment. There were hundreds of smaller companies involved in this project, but there was obviously noone who ...Jump to post
It was the plan from the beginning to only have one operating airport left in Berlin.
Thats why BER was planned to be big enough and have enough capacity to handle all the traffic of the german capital.
So whatever is needed to increase the capacity of BER it has to be done at BER, not TXL.
If a plane can seat 10 pax more and the average ticket price is only 50 Euros/return it would be 500 Euros per flight.Depending on the length of the flight 2-3 flights can be done per day.So it would be 1000 to 1500 Euros more earnings...per DAY ! I don`t think that the additional needed flight atte...Jump to post
