Anyone know why VA cancelled VA78 from HND-CNS and instead flew a 737-700 from HND-BNE nonstop ? Good effort by the aircraft and crew but is it just a maintenance based incident or something else ?

One has to wonder what EK's next play in Australia will be - it seems likely that DXB-SWZ will be on the cards in a few years but in the meantime it would be fun to see them try something like DXB-SIN-CNS/OOL or DXB-CBR-AKL. Could see CNS being a popular route. Wonder if the demand is there though....

EK reports they are dropping BNE-SIN due to significant losses on the route. Actions like this don’t normally indicate the capacity needs to be replaced. I agree. It doesn't help that their A333 and A339 have a 377 seat config. That means they are still bringing in around 1131 seats each week to BNE. It'll be interesting how popular they were over Sep school holidays and over upcoming Dec/Jan periods.

SQ to SIN has done this on the 256 flight and MH has done this a bit as well I think to KUL.
