I've flown Allegiant a handful of times in the past couple years and never had a flight that was more than 45 minutes late. As long as you are ready for tight seating and know that you'll be paying for any add-ons Allegiant is a good, cheap, no-frills option for your itinerary.

We did Morocco and southern Spain this past February and had a great time-- perfect weather (though a bit chilly in evenings) and fewer crowds. I'd suggest looking into Marrakech/Essaouira, Sevilla, Granada, and Cordoba (you could link this with a visit to Madrid fairly easily as well).

Yes, I flew on Norwegian's EI-FYG MAD-LGW in February of this year. Aside from a few subtle differences (wings, engine noise) I'd say it didn't feel that different than other 737 flights I've been on recently.

I avoid WN as often as possible specifically because of their boarding process. The uncertainty of not having an assigned seat is an added stress for me that I do not need when traveling, and I hate feeling like I have to be in line to "claim" my seat, instead of enjoying a lounge or plane...
