Re: OAG Changes 12/29/2019: UA Adds DEN-DDC,ORD-DEC, Drops IAH-CAE/DAY

It’s amazing how AA can run a 900 flight a day mega hub at DFW while down the road IAH has struggles and now cutting 2 more destinations. It’s puzzling to me why UA can’t seem to make it work especially since it’s basically their only southern hub. In the south it’s basically AA or DL and UA has be...

Re: OAG Changes 12/29/2019: UA Adds DEN-DDC,ORD-DEC, Drops IAH-CAE/DAY

Why is a 6-7am departure not "that great"? Simple, most people enjoy sleep. Fewer humans 'want' to wake up at 3:30am for a 6:30am flight versus waking up at 6am for a 9am flight. If they are in that much of a time crunch to arrive at their destination early, many travelers would rather ju...

Thoughts from IAH: adds in South America such as BSB, GYE, MVD. Those would be new destinations for UA, altogether. Maybe OGG, FAI? Maybe extra frequencies to HNL, GIG, GRU, EZE?

UA ending DAY-IAH in April 2020. Sad to see this one go-- DAY's only add in recent memory. Oversized equipment (E75), low premium demand, and less desirable flight times never allowed this one to realize its full potential. Personally, I think they should have attempted it with an E45 before cutting...

The market concentration in the DC area was a big sticking point. With the UA hub at IAD and US holding a large slot portfolio at DCA the authorities frowned upon this. It is growing on me. However, I am disappointed at the lack of purple. A small touch somewhere (winglets?) would have been truly unique and identifying. A blue, purple, gold livery would have been lovely. The light blue is fairly jarring, and I do not think, particularly on-brand. Why they chose the...
