The only other such UA Express bus operation is between Galveston (BPT) and IAH. The ABE-EWR shuttle bus was previously a CO flight before it was converted to bus service due to ATC delays at EWR.

Never traveled through MCI before, so I can't say much about the airport's facilities... The proximity of MCI and STL to ORD make for an unrealistic hub operation, not to mention that I think American Airlines actually had a small hub at STL at one point, which failed... Wasn't AA's STL hub a holdo...
