The merger opened up many more connecting options for travelers - particularly those traveling from the eastern seaboard (such as RIC) or western states. Other than O&D, which airports across the USA would be better served through Detroit than through ATL, MSP, or one of the east coast gateways...

My money is on where ever AA is adding from ORD, it will be seasonal at best, and dropped within a year or 2. That’s great positivity there Just trying to be realistic, I never read 'new ORD route' and thought permanent expansion. And I'm correct on half of what I said so far. It's seasonal to VCE....

It seems Ethiopian will target traffic to Africa from Pakistan, based on the frequency proposed: from what I've heard, the flight between ADD and KHI will run 2x weekly.
Any connections to Europe and ORD/IAD would be the cherry on top.

Well even though I'm ORD-based, I'd love to see at least one Europe - KHI route on a European carrier.

My preferences are in this order:

BA LHR - KHI
VS LHR - KHI
LH FRA - KHI

Unlikely? Yes. Do I think they could work? Well, LH maybe since KHI has unusually high demand to IAH.

This is great news! I'd use these routes myself but (A) none of these flights go to KHI and (B) I'm an AS elite member, so I'd rather fly BA than VS for the AS miles.
