Thanks for the reply ( you always have great info ). Do you have any info on the delivery schedule for the rest of 2019?
I thought I read that the 4th Delta bird was in flt. testing. Any word on if it will be delivered before the end of the year? At the Investor Day presentation, Mr. Bastian said that they were getting 25 in 2019. I wonder if that means that there will be 29 on the property by this time next year, or ...Jump to post
I must be missing something... I have read that with these new adds at BOS this will bring DL. up to @ 152 fits. per day. I thought that they were at @ 117 per day. With these new flts.which I count to be 23, that is only 140 in total. If my numbers are correct there should be 12 more flts. to be ad...Jump to post

Thanks for all the great replies. It is good to see that there are possible solutions to an expansion of A. I'm sure any options are a long way off and quite expensive, but at some point in time one will probably be chosen. I don't see DL. being held back for lack of gate space. I get the feeling BO...Jump to post
I have a few questions about possible Term. A expansion. Please bear with me, I haven't been there in awhile, and forgive me If posted earlier. 1 Are all those cargo areas at the end of A in use ? 2 If they are, can they be relocated somewhere else on the property ? Please answer objectively. I am j...Jump to post
There are several good posts on this thread WPvsMW especially. I think what some are missing is that this is not next years plan , but what may be something that will work in the future ( how far in the future is the key ). Long range planning is what smart successful companies do. It may not ever c...Jump to post
What is PIT, CLE, CVG, CMH. . . Figures ? For the entire 2018? For June (last recorded month for IND), IND was slightly ahead of PIT, and way ahead of CVG and CMH. Just a quick thankyou for always keeping this thread so up to date and informative. It is one of my favorites because of your posts. Th...Jump to post
I don't disagree with the two points you make. My point is those two examples are not enough to offset AAs costs at JFK.
I would venture that if you knew how much money they were losing on the rest of their JFK operations...
you wouldn't be posting yours.
If my memory serves me right, I seem to remember NW painted a DC-10 with NW colors on one side and KLM colors on the other. Maybe this caused some people to think it was a KLM plane. Depending on which side you saw... The aircraft had both colors on both si Great catch, thanks for sharing. I was soo...Jump to post

I finally read what will happen to the old concourse A gates when new section opens. I believe it was from the airport manager in an article about it ,can't remember what publication. DELTA will have 6 gates initially while the other 7 are remodeled. Then next year DELTA will move into the 7 remodel...Jump to post
Mr. Bastian said that DL. was comfortable operating in the current price range. They predict that by end of the year the fares will have caught up with fuel costs. Doesn't mean they won't keep going higher. They plan on trimming certain markets not in all, other than normal end of summer cuts They t...Jump to post
I don't have the exact quote ,but I believe the context of the statement was to draw down the schedule after the busy summer season, and allow fare increases to catch up the revenue stream.
I do not see this affecting 2019 expansion which I think will be substantial.
LovePrunesAnet : I have read all your posts on this thread, and you are kinda Snarky and rude. We are all just trying to enjoy a discussion on something that we have an interest in. The pro AUS/DL fans are just sharing insights that we put together and hope for the outcome we desire. Just fun stuff....Jump to post
I have to give a big shout out to the thread starter of this thread and the Delta refurbishment thread and all the posters on both. You all really post some very interesting stuff and make these two threads at the top of my list for great reading.
Thank you all very much, please keep them coming.
Mr. tphuang Thank you very much for your kind words. It is a pleasure having a pleasant discussion with someone on a subject we both seem to love. I understand the points you make about DL.s higher cost structure, I am not convinced they are quite as bad as you infer ( no offense ). Where I put more...Jump to post
Mr.tphuang, I mean no disrespect you sound like you may know a lot about airlines and you constantly refer to DELTAs lower margins and all their disadvantages when competing against B6 and SW. You do this in every thread concerning DL. and a city where they might want to expand. I would guess that y...Jump to post
Kik 9 Ah. Seems very thin though, especially for the amount of noise I’ve heard about AUS being destined as a focus city. This should help, I have been hearing rumors about this focus city strategy for a while so it looks like everything is coming together: https://seekingalpha.com/article/4167776-d...Jump to post
Since there was a bit of discussion a week or so ago about DL 'maybe adding service soon' at SAN, I decided to create a SAN turn-sked and I used July 8 as the date. Wow! Here are the counts for daily nonstops, by route, effective that date: ATL - 7.5 (including 2 red-eye departures; 2 of the ATL fl...Jump to post
Great points you make about the possible DL. expansion. I think a couple of facts have slowed them down a bit. The delay in C series deliveries and their goal to not add too much capacity this year. I think 2019 will be a very exciting year for DL. fans.
I could see DL add IND if WN doesn't make it year around Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk I fully agree, I didn't mean to leave IND off my list, and I don't think it would matter if SW got in the market or not. No slight on SW ,its a great airline, but I don't think DL is afraid to compete with...Jump to post
SANFan Thanks for your reply and hard effort to get me the correct answer. I hope that DL. can keep at least 7 and maybe a couple more. To answer your question for me, I am afraid I will disappoint you. I have no inside knowledge to share...I mainly look at what DL. Is doing across their system and ...Jump to post
You seem to be on top of SAN ( great place).
Could you tell me how many gates DL. has now and there location and how many they will have and where they will be when new FIS is complete?
I think DL. will be adding a bit more flying in near future.
It also mentioned the airlines moving into the new gates JBL F9 AC UAL SWA NK. I think this will bring A to 22 gates ( 13 old and the 9 new ones). NK? NK doesn’t even fly to CLT, at least yet. Interesting. My bad I could not find the article I had read and tried to quote from memory... Just AINT wh...Jump to post
Just read a story about the construction at CLT. It mentioned that 9 new gates on concourse A would open soon. It also mentioned the airlines moving into the new gates JBL F9 AC UAL SWA NK. Please excuse my lack of understanding, but will this impact the DL. C series orders?
Sorry if I missed it in the above replies, I was sort of speed reading thru.
I meant on time, dispatch reliability, etc. I should have been clearer. I know JBL. AA and UAL are carrying more paxs now but I do think at the end of next summer DL. will be a solid # 2 at BOS. While all the adds I mentioned is a very large expansion, I don't see DL not putting those 5 additional g...Jump to post
