Re: PIT Update Discussion Thread - 2019

500 million for the runway rehab? Whats the runway made out of? Gold????? That is insane. She said "$100 million". That's still a lot of money, but it is 11,500' x 200' plus shoulders so it's a lot of pavement. That figure might include doing the associated taxiways considering they are t...

Re: PIT Update Discussion Thread - 2019

At the end of the State of the Airport conference this evening, an audience member asked the question about 28L/10R. Ms. Cassotis said the rehab for that runway will cost $500-million. The federal government pays for most of that. She said the decision to close it is solely with the FAA. There will...

I kind of guessed that UA might retaliate F9’s DEN service once they added the service from BTV-DEN (also in retaliation to F9). But what I didn’t know is that it would happen this quickly. EK's problem is that right now, it flies to pretty much every single large airport on the planet. EK plan should be to fly to medium size airports with the a330 NEOs and 350s. Go where the 777s and 380s are too large to go (or fill capacity wise) Follow the BA model. BA is using the 787s and using t...
