Re: Philadelphia route expansion

Very few People in Philly seem to be really pleasant. I worked for United and had to turn in a CSR for being Rude. I wanted to really punch her in the Face but I opted for turning her In whereupon she had to write an apology letter lest I decided to "screw PHL over" which was their though...

Re: Philadelphia route expansion

AA / Philly airport is horrible internationally ...... I think the airport needs to get their act together, the AA staff needs to be more pleasant (5 AA staff all extremely rude), and farrrrr less delays.

Re: Upstate New York Thread - 2018

Heard a rumor in Polish media that LOT may start transatlantic flights BNIA, would be pretty wild considering how many Polish people live across the border in Ontario. Interesting rumor ....... LOT does have 787s. i think we are a few years away from actually flights to Europe. Lets say BNIA hits 5...

Re: Now more A380s than passenger 747s

I think both the 747 and A380s days are numbered because airlines are realizing that it is not cost-effective to fly them on most routes. I also think Boeing with the 787 read the market perfectly ...... they knew the technology was coming, that passengers want more direct flights, medium size airp...

Re: Hawaiian Airlines having second thoughts on A330neos, could order 787's instead

The 787-8 would be a very interesting plane for HA .... could create a ton of Direct flight destinations from all over the world due to how far the 787 can fly.

Maybe more US direct flights from medium size airports or medium size airports from other world destinations.

Re: American adds limited-time MIA-BUF/RSW during holiday season

IAG is actually closer to Toronto, Hamilton and all of the major population centers and the Niagara Region except Port Colborne plus Niagara Falls area has three bridges to choose from while Buffalo only has one. The NFTA decided a long time ago it was going to build up one of the airports between ...

Re: American adds limited-time MIA-BUF/RSW during holiday season

To be fair, neither TPA, MCO, SFB, or PIE are in South Florida (I know the University of South Florida is in Tampa but most people consider South Florida to be MIA, FLL, PBI.) As for IAG vs BUF, F9 probably chose BUF precisely because NK and G4 are already at IAG - what would F9 flying to Florida a...

Re: American adds limited-time MIA-BUF/RSW during holiday season

If AA does make it permanent as people expect (we shall see) and if you include NK at IAG which is so close they essentially serve the same area there will be 5. Actually, I'm surprised F9 didn't go to IAG instead of BUF seeing the NFTA has marketed IAG as a ULCC facility. They would probably be ch...

YESSS. Now, let's make MIA-BUF year-round and add MIA/DFW-BUF/ROC/SYR/ALB too! :bouncy: Technically frontier is going to fly year around .... but if AA wants to join that competition. I am ALLLLLLLLL for it. I am not sure if the rest of New York will get that same flight though. ROC, SYR, and ALB d...

No question it is a direct reaction to Frontier entering the Florida - BUF market, and specifically the AA hub at Miami. Frontier 14 Yup canadians LOVEEEEEEE flying to Florida in general from BNIA. I could definitely see this route stick. I still would love to see one of big airlines try to grow BN...

Re: BA's Next US Destination

Airline wise: Flying into BNIA vs a crammed YYZ could be more cost efficient for landing Fees and all the other services / charges. I can see a discount airline like Norwegian, WOW, or some airline along those lines trying to break into that market. Larger airlines like BA could probly care less. B...

CSAs are a better measure of market size. No. CSAs/PSAs/MSAs/etc are just a measure of population size, nothing more. Contrary to AvGeek lore, they aren't directly predictive of ability to attract nor sustain any given route. Take MSY for example, half the CSA of STL, yet it got the flight. For ple...

Buffalo, NY and Harrisburg, PA. I know that at least MDT was tried in the past. I think that if these, as well as PVD and OAK were added, would essentially cover all the major domestic markets out of DFW. Still surprised that Buffalo (BNIA) doesn't have service to Dallas. Either AA or even Southwes...

Why do you say there would be very little feed? Buffalo isn't a tiny city, the metro population is only slightly smaller than Salt Lake City, Hartford, and New Orleans. I'm a travel agent and we had several reps from that area in earlier this week. The buffalo rep stated they are very confident of Norwegian announcing service from as early as next year. Yeah, I read that the airports getting the WOW flights offered 500K per year for marketing for 2 years. So a total of a million bucks in marketing.
