Re: Southwest passenger forcibly removed from flight with pet allergy

If I have a Bee Sting allergy, and I see / hear a bee in the plane (or anywhere else), I'm outa there, there will be skid marks on the floor, you wont see me for dust. I'm not hanging around to argue the Bees' "right" to be there, I am simply putting as much room between me and it as I can...

Re: The best/worst looking airliner?

Best looking, Boeing 747, any series, but 400s and 748s look great. Worst for me is the A380, just so so ugly. Technological tour de force, no doubt, but pig dog ugly.

That the 747 continues flaying for another 50 years, thus bringing beauty in industrial design to a new generation.

Re: Qantas to announce ambitious plan to fly East Coast Australia to London and New York by 2022

Thinking a little outside the box, Qantas could achieve their goals now, without any MTOW issues, by copying Air Force fighter jets. Worlds first pax airborne refuelling..... Would proabably be considered to be too dangerous for a civilian airliner with regulare full passenger load I would imagine ...

Re: Qantas to announce ambitious plan to fly East Coast Australia to London and New York by 2022

Could one of the big two 380 or 747 be easily modified to deliver the required distance whilst retaining pax and freight capacity?

I note that the plane has been renamed the "Mahindra Airvan 8" I assume the huge Indian Conglomerate now has a controlling interest in the company?

Sadly there would be enough room to bring Adam Lambert.... now if they could get Marc Martel to come along...... that would be a show worth seeing.

Re: Freddie Mercury on Norwegians latest Boeing 787-9

Looks great, but, Freddies Image should only be on the Queen of the skies, a 747. Its such a shame that there cant be many pictures of Freddie, but of course..... "There can be only one".

Re: Automated cockpit voice - male or female

was this not part of the issue with the A340 at Airbus during its pre flight final engine testing? IE they pulled a fuse to silence an annoying alarm and it cut the brakes?

Re: Ever been afraid of a certain aircraft type?

Only Prop plane I've been on, was a SAAB 340 on REX (Australia), flown on it several times. I have never felt comfortable on that bird. I think the vibrations that run through the frame as the engines are bought up to temp / speed. before the props a configured to cut the air, I guess they may be ov...

Re: Before/after retirement: What's your plane for you, and/or family?

The chances of me ever affording or even being able to fly a plane are slim, so its all fantasy... that being the case, I'll take a 748. Polished, with a window strip in blue and 747 emblazoned on the tail. If I'm to have my own plane, it will have enough room to stretch my legs and it will enough t...

More room per seat. Oh, and an outdoor viewing / smoking/ platform, can recall seeing one on a huge plane in an English murder mystery movie from the 1930s, the hero had to break into the cockpit near the end of the movie.

Re: Qantas 747 400 questions

Another couple of questions concerning 744 APU, what is its endurance in hot weather (40 plus degrees c), what exactly does it and doesn't it power when the aircraft is on the ground, and does it run on its own fuel source or use the same source as the engines?. on fuel sources, I understand the 744...

Re: Qantas 747 400 questions

I have another 747 question, Back in the 70s, quite a few Jumbos seemed to be polished, The "Stevens" Jumbo, 23 Sierra from Airport 77 springs to mind. Is there are reason why Jumbos no longer come this way, would it be possible to order one? I thought they looked great.

Qantas 747 400 questions

Hello all, this is my first post, I finally joined up after not being able to find an answer to a question on this excellent site. One of my hobbies is writing, I don't claim to be very good, but I do like to get things right where I can. I think both of my questions would qualify as technical, if n...
