Re: Irish 2/24: Flying February

Having FR so active in SNN is a double edged sword, lots of routes with them but they’re a major deterrent to other airlines launching routes as Ryanair are notorious for capacity dumping until the rival pulls the service, whereupon FR often pull it too. Very few if any airlines are willing to take ...

738’s minimum approach speed is 15 kts higher than A320, hence all the over-runs in SE Asian rain. A320 crosswind limit is 5 kts higher than 738. There’s two better performances characteristics off the top of my head as a Controller.

The second EI XLR is in final assembly as of this week (the first will take over DUB-MSP from the A330), so it's plausible given it is currently not accounted for route-wise.

This "offer" holds up the floor other airlines can negotiate Boeing down to on the jets due delays whilst potentially getting FR a better deal than they already have on their outstanding orders. MO'L is a master at this stuff.

Any US West Coast routes from MAN would require either -200s or 242t -300s with full flight and cabin crew rest areas. The latter are not easy to come by, especially with GE engines, and it's been well documented EI don't want any more -200s AFAIK. I think West Coast routes are unlikely as a result.

The 757 has far better runway performance than its modern competitors (MAX, NEO) for 3 main reasons: powerful (and thirsty) engines, a large wing, and double bogey gear increasing stopping power, thus pushing V1 further down the runway and thus allowing takeoff from shorter runways with high loads. ...
