Re: World leaders travelling on commercial flights

I doubt it; notice how this practice is generally done during a president’s administration and not always as a norm. The reason why many heads of state need private aircraft is not just for security, but also efficiency. Should something occur that requires a head of state to suddenly move or travel...

Turkish carries a large chunk of traffic as transfers to Israel. I believe they are the foreign carrier with the largest presence at TLV and hold a good chunk of the market to Israel along with IB.

Re: LATAM suspends GRU-FCO route

Just out of curiosity - was it the poor economics of the 763 that caused them to end this route? MXP is home to the majority of the Brazilian diaspora in Italy. JJ has done well on MXP because of VFR and fashion week. Alitalia does averagely okay on FCO-GRU and the flight itself is enough to fulfil...

Awesome! Lima continues to prove itself as a valuable asset for LATAM. The product offered on the 787 is better suited to compete with IB on the lucrative MAD route.

If LAX is to be upgauged to 787 then I hope JFK would be as well.

Mexico City needs a new airport period. More than likely, the vote will be to stick it out and finish the much needed new airport. Splitting operations is only going to hurt the city and country since many international flyers who arrive in MEX are transferring to other domestic flights. The current...

Ethiopian fly nearly anywhere in Africa with a runway, and have airlines operating under them as well. However, a significant hole in their network on the continent is in the North - there are no flights to Algeria / Morocco / Tunisia, etc. What's with that? It seems that North Africans are covered...

I’m sort of happy to see them struggling. They were so overprotected under the Kirchner’s. Many of us Argentines had to deal with sh*tty customer service and operations as a norm. AM was the last Latin American carrier of the 772 and their livery looked stellar on it. 789 will be a good replacement, though it offers 10 less Y seats compared to the 772, which makes quite the difference on routes to MAD and GRU that could use as many Y seats as possible.
