just out of random curiosity, does anyone have the numbers from DLs short lived LGB-LAS service back in 2019 as well as AAs LGB-DFW flights in 2021? I know COVID didn’t help with their longevity but I don’t remember it being discussed too much in the LGb thread. Thanks!
Jump to postAA is operating its last flights outta LGB today. All PHX flying will remain with Southwest. Any word on whether AA has dropped the slots officially?
Jump to postIf United is smart, no. The interiors of those aircraft are practically falling apart. JO just posted an internal memo - Mesa is transitioning all CRJ9s to UA, opening up a DEN base, and maintaining current domiciles (yes, DFW and PHX are included), while expanding the E175 fleet. What a time to be...

Jump to postLGB just announced that Southwest has added a seasonal New Orleans flight that runs from January 8th to March 2023 for Marci Gras season. It appears that the flight only runs on Sundays. Glad to see Southwest adding more east(ish) coast routes to the LGB network.

it's been pretty silent during these past couple months, has anyone heard anything new? AA won that supplemental slot (upgrading them to 4 total slots) back in March but LGB-PHX is still showing up 3x a day?
Jump to postI didn't know where else to put this, but it appears that Advanced Air will be starting Gallup (GUP) service in the near future with their King Air 350s. Initially, they'll be flying to Phoenix, but I'd assume ABQ is next on the list if the route does well. https://www.gallupsun.com/index.php?option...
Jump to postCan someone explain why G4 stuck it out for so long at OGD? I've been hearing that they've been getting abysmal loads for a while now, but yet they've been serving the airport for the greater part of a decade? Did Avelo's entrance into the market have anything to do with it?

Hawaiian Airlines is opening a new maintenance base at LGB to service its A321 fleet. It's opening today.
It's great seeing airports like SBD get a chance, and SYR finally see some well-deserved transcon service.. but who in their right mind is going to spend upwards of $650 roundtrip to fly on an airline that I've seen referred to as the "more luxurious Allegiant."
Jump to postReally shocked DL still hasn’t added LGB-SEA and potentially even MSP/ATL with how well those flights do at SNA. Not many empty airplanes flying SNA-SEA/MSP/ATL lately or historically. And no remote competition to any of the 3 regions from LGB. No legitimate outside competition even from LAX on ATL...

Hmm, looks like 2 of the slots went to AA. I know they were using an unused DL slot to fly DWF since they only had 3 slots of their own but looks like that stops in March (maybe because the slot went up for reallocation?) but looks like starting 8/17 they go 4x PHX and 1x DFW. I’m guessing they wer...
Jump to postThe required noise budget analysis is out. While technically the cumulative noise level is below the allowed noise budget, the independent outside analysis did not support making additional slots available because of the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the airport and the difficulty of properly judg...
Jump to postStill no update on the 8/12 unused DL slots, but they did upgrade their night SLC frequency to A319s again. AA also upgraded DFW from E175s to CRJ9s. It's a great sign to see carriers upscaling equipment on existing routes, now it's just a matter of waiting for DL to make a decision on the remaining...
Jump to postDN4CAAD wrote:FLL-HVN tomorrow! Anyone know about the load factor on these flights so far?
Now that I can announce it, the FX slot was reallocated to Southwest. Of the 4 carriers on the slot waiting list, only WN and AA expressed interest in the vacated slot. As a result of this allocation to WN, AA ends up in #1 spot on the waiting list for future allocation priority. AA expressed inter...
Jump to postA lot of speculation today that DL has reached an agreement with LGB to resume the usage of their current 7 slot vacancies in the near future and has no objection to other airlines temporarily using these slots until the flights start. Right now it sounds like all E175 flying with 2 additional SLC,...

Jump to postMaybe it's not the time to ask, but is there any video of the Turkish T7 arriving or departing? I'm curious as to how they managed to squeeze a 777 into the airport with so many civilians in the operations area. I didn't see anything on Twitter.
Thanks

I was supposed to fly to LAX-STT via FLL tonight but the LAX-FLL flight was cancelled. It’s a grim situation that needs a quick solution. Hopefully ...

According to Skydive Perris's Instagram, their drop zone will be closed from July 6-9 to accommodate runway extensions and re-pavements. They tease an image of the DC-9 along with this announcement. I believe that this is the last hurdle for them to overcome before their DC-9 can resume operations. ...

who do you think will get the slots ? Southwest has made it clear that they want a large presence at LGB, and gobbling up slots seems to be their game plan. I can't speak for what routes they'll add, but I'm fully expecting WN to "win" all 7 of the dropped DL slots. American, Delta, and H...
