Southwest is usually the cheaper option after you add in fees for bags, etc. I fly WN almost exclusively including business. They have the best *domestic* FF program out there, in my opinion.

Kenya Airways had the 767-400ER on order but converted the order to 777.
Delta had over 100 MD-90 on order at one point, but only took 12 iirc from the factory.
I believe Delta's 10 77L were originally orders for additional 777-200ER, but they were converted to 77L.
Air Europe ordered the MD-11.

This really is nothing new. Freedom Air had a MCO base while they were flying.
Air Wisconsin used to have a ORF crew base.

Easter Island is stairs only. Has been since opening. Currently LAN flies there with B787 but it has been other equipment in the past, incl. A340, etc.

Every ex-LH A343 that went into "storage" was scrapped almost immediately or sold onward to places like Iran. Most if not all 300s that left the fleet were the plain jane -300, not the -300X that are still in use.

Delta actually flew ANC-NRT fairly recently with the 757. They were positioning flights sold the the public. Surely any Asia links to Alaska would be via Tokyo or somewhere like PEK.

I believe FI actually did have the 737NG on order and even took delivery of some, but they immediately leased them onto other carriers. For a while (not sure if they still do this) but they had an aircraft holding business called Flugleidir Icelandair Group. Delta did something similar with many of ...
