A case can be made for NGO imo. Lots of Toyota executives on that flight as well. Heck, in DTW they have several Japanese agents who -in addition to the mundane tasks of a gate agent - are assigned to meet people who pay extra for their ticket to be escorted through customs. I've seen it with NRT as...Jump to post
As an enthusiast, just about any new plane would get me excited. Otherwise, I'd have to say... Boeing 747. To me, it always meant I was going somewhere far both geographically and culturally from what I considered home. In one case, it was going somewhere that already felt like home to me for the fi...Jump to post
The last time I visited Narita, it was not uncommon to see several A380s serving NRT from the likes of AF, LH, and SQ among others. Now I only saw three when I was there a few weeks ago spotting with a local a.netter. I'm not sure, but I don't think HND will be able to handle multiple A380s. Someone...Jump to post
Late in the handover/acceptance process of this particular aircraft an issue showed up again with the electrically actuated lavatory seat levelling mechanism. Improper adjustment of this device may cause injuries to persons seated when using the lavatory, particularly if the aircraft is encounterin...Jump to post
What next, an emotional support jellyfish?
Don't get me wrong I am a dog person, but this whole emotional support stuff has largely gone off the rails. I could've sworn I heard rumors of an emotional support tarantula at one point.
N503DN flew the inaugural DTW-PEK route today. It will become a daily A359 on 23 February.
It was a bit tricky memorizing all the places I've been. I may need to keep a word file of this or something to help keep track. A-- AMS, ANC, ARN, ATL, AUS B-- BNA, BOS C-- CDG, CGH, CLT, CMX, CPH, CTS, CVG D-- DCA, DEN, DFW, DTW E--EYW F-- FLL, FNT, FRA, FSZ, FUK G--GRR, GRU H-- HIJ, HND, HNL I-- ...Jump to post
I read somewhere that the delivery flight is to GMP, perhaps indicating it will be doing some domestic runs and/or markets into China and Japan.Jump to post
I'd say Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum, but that is really an arcade at the end of the day MARVIN'S IS STILL THERE??? I dunno why this should make me so happy; it's not as if I'm likely to ever visit it again, but I'm glad to know it's survived the years since I was a kid. The founder did pas...Jump to post
How many A321CEOs are still to be delivered for DL? For the sake of being thorough, I included all the outstanding deliveries for recent orders (and options) A321ceo = 92 A321neo = 100 + 100 options* A330neo = 25 A359 = 29 CS100 = 75 outstanding orders** 739 = 42 outstanding orders * - possible con...Jump to post
Cue the DTW crowd in 3...2...1... :duck: Even I am scratching my head on that. Don't get me wrong I love my hometown and all, but I always have a challenge trying to make recommendations on touristy things to do for people visiting or when I have friends / relatives coming to visit..I compare Detroi...Jump to post

A part of my childhood died inside me on Sunday morning...from laughing hysterically at this.

Now, who said the Lions had a horrible defensive lineup?
This is where it gets a little hairy - if a flight sustains even a 1 min delay, some entity will be tagged and held responsible for that delay. This code (at least in the hub stations) is discussed ad nauseam, often with management intervention, to ensure that the code is assigned to the "righ...Jump to post
Lovely report. It's unfortunate that TK is switching catering as that food looks delicious, even the breakfast which is something that seems like an afterthought.Jump to post
New jingle....It's a small fee after all? :rotfl: You have won the internet today. Having been stuck on that ride at an early age with the soundtrack still playing in total darkness for 45 minutes, I spat out my drink laughing hysterically only to be reminded of that memory I desperately tried repr...Jump to post

I had one F/A purser on a flight to SLC over a year ago. Very junior, but obviously loved hearing the sound of his own voice. Every bump we had, he went on for 10 seconds on the whole "seat belts even when the sign is off blah blah blah" announcement. What made it worse is as we were taxi...Jump to post

Very interesting thread. This airline was based in Okinawa if I recall correctly. I don't recall the exact story, but I think the 767 in question went to Skymark. It is a unique livery that I do like. An earlier thread on them revealed the following: Lequios Airlines was established by a group of lo...Jump to post
BNA, RDU, AUS or PHL. Please stop 1. Does the fact that my home airport is in my username give you the right to automatically judge me as a troll? 2. All of the above-mentioned places have either large, growing metropolitan areas with a growing tech industry present or a large Oneworld following (e...Jump to post

DTW-IND. I haven't flown it (done the reverse from an IROP a few years ago), but it's about 45 minutes in the air, or a six-hour drive. I have an aunt who lives in Carmel, and I often dreaded the drive while in college for Thanksgiving because of the driving time where any decent, meaningful convers...Jump to post
I'm slowly getting myself conditioned to seeing the passport plum. I'm relieved the gray is going to be darker per employee feedback as there's no way I'm taking the blazer in to my local dry cleaner every other week. Also the pink uniforms will be coming back next October, but to everyone's relief ...Jump to post
I intend on going into work early to see any festivities for the inaugural. I did get a phone wallet with the 350 on it, but that's about it.Jump to post
Does anyone know what the original next flight was for the aircraft comprising DAL9928? I’m curious to see how Delta handles it. I noticed Delta cancelled AMS DTW flight 135 today and also found out that KLM is currently flying 777-300 to Atlanta , as far as I know they normally fly 777-200 so prob...Jump to post
Hands down the prettiest A321 I have seen. Congratulations, HA!Jump to post
Clever use of the QR code. It may seem a bit odd to some, but the alternative of having a web address emblazoned across the entire fuselage looks tacky.
Also I do hope the blue around the doors is just tape after being painted, otherwise it would look a bit weird.
America West. I always liked their livery, but I heard the service was so-so. Northwest - This is an obvious choice as I live in the DTW area and have flown on their DC-9's more times than I care to count growing up. Their service wasn't all too great (I had a nightmare of a day getting to TPA once)...Jump to post
Highly unlikely. Supporting a sponsor in a city with a population no more than 250,000 and you can get to/from AMS in an hour anyways versus one of Europe's major connecting hubs where you happen to have an alliance partner (KL) being the dominant carrier to easily fill your flight (AM). By that log...Jump to post
Say it ain't so. I love how LH's livery is so practical and straight forward with such an iconic logo. How quintessentially German!
IF they do anything so dramatic with rebranding themselves, I pray they don't do anything as dramatic as AA.
Anything currently served by a 330 (e.g. anything to/from AMS) is more or less a given. What I'd be interested is for some of the routes currently served by a 76W/764 such as STR. That is of course if they are indeed replacing the 767s but I'd wait to see what happens with the MoM project from Boein...Jump to post

I can easily roast some of the trolls living in my hometown, but in all seriousness you really begin to notice the demographics of where you live when you find yourself at Disneyworld and nearly every other person you see is wearing a U of M or MSU sweatshirt. Yes I can't stand going to MCO for that...Jump to post
While the 777 isn't common here in DTW, it has made several appearances here from DL. I don't recall a CDG flight being flown by one (save for the upcoming AF 772 in February / March if memory serves me right). but everything else such as all the Asia flights and AMS do ring a bell in my head.
