I wish them every happiness. That being said: I don't get why people insist on putting on a huge show like this. Call me old fashioned, but a marriage proposal should be romantic and intimate. New Years Eve or a waterfront picnic or something like that. Good for them. Enjoy your life together. Don'...Jump to post

We are in 2018; they should design more gender-neutral uniforms.
Even w/o this deregulation, I find that airfares in Argentina are quite affordable actually, You can get a r/t AEP or EZE to USH on AR/AU (from EZE it's on the A332, from AEP on the E190, MAX 8 or 738) for around $250 if you are flexible with your dates. Keep in mind it is an almost 4 hour flight e...Jump to post
South American operator for either one? I could see Aerolineas Argentinas investing in new Airbus long-haul aircraft I sure hope so! however according to our CEO, this year the fleet decision will be regarding a replacement for AU's Embraers, before years end. Widebody fleet renewal will be decided...Jump to post
This is way worst (and funnier too!)
If he wasn't wearing an AV uniform, or doing anything on their behalf, what's the problem? I think this is a terrible overreaction on AV's part. He should sue.Jump to post

I don't think it is relevant if the guy is an elite or a celebrity of sorts, or a long time UA supporter, or pays for F of his own pocket. You as an employee don't have the right to publicly criticize a customer who BTW is making some valid complaints about your company's dreadful service. Hell, she...Jump to post
Personally, I would have no problem. A national airline can very much be a key component of a nation's infrastructure and be a utility. Matter of fact I think the problem goes back to AZ being privatized to begin with. Should have remained part of the state and never been sold off to start with. No...Jump to post

I know bags will suffer some tossing around, but this kind of handling will easily result in a broken wheel or handle. I don't find any justification to her working style. And I work for an a/l FFS!Jump to post
You must be looking at the wrong link. It takes a very special livery to make an A350 in flight look butt ugly, and IB's is one of them. Egads. You must also hate LATAM, DL and Finnair also. Plane looks just fine I don't like any of those liveries. Shame, the red/yellow combination of the Spanish f...Jump to post
Great, fill the bladders of middle seaters so they need to hit the toilet midflight!
Just kidding, this is a good marketing move. They should do it in other airports, on a rotating basis, for a while at least.

Me too. I prefer the A350 (but haven't flown either, sadly) but the only logical choice is the 787. Unless Airbus offers a very sweet-can't say no-deal. Also I would be VERY surprised if the fleet choice for AU would turn out to be anything but 737. Good thing we should have our answer in a few mont...Jump to post
Do you have the numbers of passengers carried? I don't mind if AR loses market share as long as the cake is a bigger one.
Edit: I found it on the web page. +7% pax carried, -2% market share. I like the state of things, but I'm still not sure the country needs a 6th player with Norwegian.
Why oh why do all these newcomers feel the need to apply for dozens of routes which are either ludicrous or impossible to cover in such short term? I am really looking for an explanation and can't find it anywhere. However, some of those seem to be possibly covered with other Avianca branches, no? a...Jump to post
Transiting in Canada? sounds nice, but they require visa for Argentinian's. Would be interesting to know if it's a hassle like the US visa is, or if having the latter makes things easier. At least one knows that after getting the US visa you'll be going there more often, but Canada? less likely. Sha...Jump to post
Fly them directly from MAD to IGR, have the people stay at one of their hotels, let them travel thru Argentina on AR (the domestic network is steadily not relying on AEP stops) and have them back in Buenos Aires (also staying at their hotels) to return on UX to MAD. It could work...Jump to post
I don't see the A330neo in AR because both of them seem to lack flexibility to me. One has the range but doesn't allow so much grow in pax terms. While the other one has greater capacity but not so much in the legs department. 787-9 covers both. We should order a plane thinking about future growth t...Jump to post
The 350-900 may be a tad too big for AR. I understand from sources at AR that the 787-9 and A332 CEO 242T combo is something that would meet AR's needs for the next decade or so. Besides saying goodbye to the A340-300 in 2020, AR is looking to retire the older PW powered A332 as the new type joins ...Jump to post
Shouldn’t this be in the Detroit air service forum? Please don't make extraneous threads - DTW air service thread exists. Yep. According to the same blog (which I highly trust), it's gonna be 3 or 4x with 763 from MIA to COR (maybe LATAM can provide some feed from Buenos Aires if OneWorld direct flights are fully booked?) , and 4x from LAX to EZE in 789. http://www.sirchandler.com.ar/2018/03/american-airlines-volara-di...Jump to post
For some reason I always enjoy news and threads about new or expanding airports (and BER too FUBARs too!). Very detailed info!
I do have one question about this; 45 km from city center sounds like a lot. How easy is it to get to the airport? Doesn't look like it has a train connection.
If RR engines are not an issue, an efficient twin 343 sounds very possibly AR's next gen widebody, in particular for Europe flights... until now I was betting on the 787Jump to post
In the meantime, EZE could be having a major make over by 2021 (it's a completely new terminal/layout). We can finally beat ze germans at something!

Looks like class 15-11 was the last foreign national class we had. They graduated in October of 2015. Terms and salary are not the same. They get paid to local standards, have their own union, and have different perks that US based flight attendants. Interesting. It seems AA needs more internationa...Jump to post
Now that we are on this subject, I have a dumb question about sonic boom (please be kind!): is it a problem only when the aircraft passes the sound barrier, or a thunder-like noise that follows it for as long as it cruises in mach speed? Thanks for tour replies. What'd be the downside of another rwy @LGW? is it connection to the airport? because it sure seems more doable to improve its transportation, than this R3 which is bringing Anet into a civil war.
