Re: Air Cargo Discussion - 2024

Supposedly on the Airbus freighter thread (these threads have gotten pretty fractured, we could use some consolidation) they were not spring chickens, and as such had pretty poor range as low MTOW birds, needing fuel stops in SNN/KEF to make it across the pond with a load. One thing in the back of ...

According to skyliner-aviation.de, A330-332P2F MSN127 EI-HEB was yesterday (31 Jan 2024) ferried to St Athan (DGX) for part-out/scrapping. Due to the elderly nature and low MTOW surrounding this frame, she was quite ETOPS restricted on TATL routes hence warranting a mandatory stopover midpoint at K...

There seems to be a recent A330-200 to the TK fleet bearing registration TC-LOM at the THY Technic hangar at the old Ataturk airport, which would align with the fleet projection of this year. A few digging online shows that this could probably be MSN1400 which has been stored at ISL since last year.

Most howling or wooing sounds are caused by a resonance shift as pressure changes between power settings. On RB211-524 and Trent 700/800 it is characteristic when shifting from low to midrange thrust. You are not referring to the engine spool up are you? Because on the Trents that emanates a howl t...
