The longest antipodal route would be ICN to GRU. Roughly 13,000 miles. LHR to AKL might be another example. How many planes will you need to do this?

Re: How easy would a A350-2000/1100 be to develop?

I believe the A35K has a slightly longer trailing edge to increase the area (I have 4% larger in my head, but can't remember). It's not a huge change, but a change all the same. Per Airbus the A351 has a 5% larger wing area than the A359. 4998 sq ft versus 4760. sq ft. Close enough! Thanks for the ...

Re: How easy would a A350-2000/1100 be to develop?

Imagine the range on an A359neo with the A35K wing, MTOW etc though, that would make AKL-LHR possible with a realistically high capacity. I thought the A359 and A35K had the same wing I believe the A35K has a slightly longer trailing edge to increase the area (I have 4% larger in my head, but can't...

I don't have figures for the A359 but the following may be of interest: B789 on a 8½ hour flight with a payload of 25 tonnes burns just under 5,000kg/hr. A350-1000 over the same length/distance but with 20 tonne payload burns 5,700kg/hr. To even out the payload over that distance with 25 tonnes the...
