I was on a flight a couple of summers ago (probably 2 years ago) from SYR-PHL on a dash-8, the air conditioning in the plane didn't work and it was around 90degrees in the plane. We went up into the clouds and turbulence got really bad, so bad that half the plane was throwing up. So we started desce...Jump to post
That's too bad, it looked good seeing a plane that small with airline logos on it. Plus it would have been extra cool to see at least one in the new liveryJump to post
ROC is the only 'major' NY airport without service to S. Florida. Even seasonal . It's embarrassing. Either WN or B6 could add nonstop service to FLL from ROC. Which of the 2 is likely to add nonstop service to FLL from ROC? That's true, but with SYR 1hr east and BUF/IAG 1hr west and both having S....Jump to post
SYR's observation parking area also doubles as the cell phone lot. The center section of the terminal should be quite interesting when they get the renovations done as one of the things will be a local aviation history exhibit (I'm involved w/ the planning of this) and I believe that they will reta...Jump to post
I would like to see AA upgauge to at least all two-class aircraft on ORD-MDT, if not mainline. UA currently runs at least 1 mainline on ORD-MDT which goes up to 2 mainline per day during some parts of the year. Do they have mainline on ORD-BUF/SYR/ROC? No they don't. If I had to guess I would say B...Jump to post

SYR, United 747-400 flew one in and used stairs. The jetbridges can go high enough, but the terminal can't handle a plane with that wingspan Gate 5, if you block off gate 4? On the UA side, gate 23? I don't know about that, although because they don't usually get B747's they don't have a mark on th...Jump to post

SYR has been receiving an unusually large number of charters recently, just within the last week this has been chartered into SYR; WN 738 SY 738 DL 321 DL 738 Anyone know the reason? There have been some charters via SY and WN to/from AEX, which were most likely related ti military training/deploym...Jump to post
:D UA 744 departing SYR. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mar6-MThZzw So I guess SYR and ALB still have those observation areas. This video reminds me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MudsjYFnak When I first visited ALB in 1993, I was quite shocked that an airport that big still used boarding stairs....Jump to post

The following routes were served fall 2008-spring 2009 then cancelled:
Two out of the three of those routes have been restarted (or are planned to restart). The only route left is SYR-DFW, hopefully that route will start back up as well.

A United Boeing 747-400 flew into Syracuse July 9, 2016, and I don't want to spend the money just to figure out one flight aircraft. You need a business account to look two years into the past.
Someone PLEASE tell me what aircraft was on that route.
I went out of my way to fly on an American MD83 SYR-ORD-DTW (the MD83 was the ORD-DTW leg) but my flight was cancelled, I spent the extra time and money and will didn't get to fly on it.Jump to post

DL407 SFO JFK SYR B763 ended up circling over NYC area and going into JFK instead of being diverted.
Your also missing one;
AS8 SEA-EWR diverted to SYR 737-900
I got pictures!
I’m suprised SLC-LIH would be added before SLC-KOA. Of the top 5 unserved markets from SLC , Cleveland, Columbus, and Pittsburgh were added. Lihue and Buffalo remain, with Lihue's O/D demand being 51k/year. So there is a bigger demand for them to add Lihue, but Kona seems fairly plausible as a futu...Jump to post

Anyone know when the Skywest PBG flights to Dulles are going to load into the system? They say July 1, but I can't find them on the United site Never mind, I did some more digging. It looks like 8/29 is the first flight loaded in. That's so weird that they don't start until end of August, PenAir co...Jump to post
It is that time of year when airlines are switching from their winter to their summer schedules, here is what is notable for SYR OTHER than the new route announcements. Air Canada: YYZ - the CRJ is once again replacing the Beech1900 sparatically throughout the summer. Would also like to note that al...Jump to post
What I don't get is why JetBlue hasn't grown more aggressively in SYR, due to the absence of Southwest. If Syracuse is as ripe for Southwest as you all say, JetBlue should already be significantly larger there. This economic analysis shows as of 2016-17 JetBlue CASM of about $0.10.2, and Southwest ...Jump to post
These are my predictions, what is your opinion? Here are the possibilities in order of most likely to least likely. - Most likely - 1. New service farther westward with a carrier already serving SYR (West coast, DEN, Texas) 2. New carrier other than Southwest (Frontier, Spirit) that gives SYR non-st...Jump to post
I have a feeling that if the announcement is as big an announcement as DEN service or even Southwest then their would be a press conference scheduled. Once (if) they have one scheduled, then we can start to get excited. Otherwise it is probably another terminal project announcement.Jump to post
