Re: Detroit Air Service Discussion Part 5

Oh and I didn't mention, TLV could be a possibility for DTW by 2020. With El Al getting some 787's it'd be the perfect aircraft size for a nonstop, but RJ offers low yields to TLV so would it effect RJ? Either how I think El Al can make 4x weekly work on a 787, easy. There's only one thing that cou...

Re: QR Service to ATL Caused DL to End Doha Service; DL Considers ME/India Return

I don't see why no one gets this, so I'll say it again. ME3 lose money. They don't mind losing money because they're subsidized. US3 do have investors to account to in the private sector, and a government that won't protect them from losses. Trying to outcompete ME3 to losses is like trying to melt ...

Re: Animosity between United Airlines and Singapore Airlines?

The short answer is that they haven't had much use for each other. UA has NH as its partner, and the two are rather close JV partners IIRC. No need to funnel people on a backtrack and ULH routing via SIN when you can provide a better routing via TYO. Conversely, SQ never had a strong presence in Nor...

Yes but one can put any spin on the numbers they want to paint the picture they want to paint. The 763 adds one extra seat per row. It also adds another aisle and a much larger fuselage. IIRC, the CASM is higher, especially when compared to a newer 738. That said, there are many variables. For example on a slot constrained airport like LHR, at peak times it makes sense to deploy a larger jet...
