Yeah, such diversions, whether medical, mechanical, or passenger unruliness, for airlines (at least), are not a big deal. The only thing that sucks is if the crew ends up timing out -- then it's time for a rescue aircraft/crew to run on up and continue the mission.

Reminds me of the time in ATL when a military dog escaped its holding area and ended up running loose throughout the culverts and green areas of HJAIA, lol. Trying to "catch" a retired military K-9 on the lam was almost a fool's errand.
