Re: West Coast Florida (TPA, PIE, SRQ, PGD, RSW, APF) Aviation - 2023

As 2024 approaches, what are some TPA route predictions? Service to Colombia. TPA to BOG, MDE, and/or CTG. With LHR on Virgin already becoming profitable, I expect other European carriers to take notice. I wouldn't be surprised if a European leisure-focused airline takes a shot at TPA sub weekly. A...

Everyone seems to forget that PIE is 20 minutes across the bridge from TPA, and you can view PIE departures and arrivals from the top of the parking garage at TPA.

Allegiant still flies PIE - PIT 3-4 times per week, don't they? I wonder if Breeze will fly on Allegiant's off days.

Frontier launches TPA-PHX today with only 13 seats left for sale! Great start to this daily service. Much needed lift to PHX this summer as Southwest isn’t up to their precovid 2x daily. Good stuff. It is strange that TPA is not looking at extending the 8,300' RWY 1R/19L. It is pretty marginal for long-haul ops and even for "albatrosses" like the B737-900ER, some of which are flying full loads to SEA & LAX. It seems to work just fine when 1L/19R closes for maintenance for periods...
