Re: AUS to become a Delta Focus City

First, the new master plan isn't even finished yet, how do you know the new island concourse have 30-40 gates (what would be needed to get to the number you arrived at)? Second, does your source believe DL is interested in building AUS up into a full blown hub (eventually) or a lesser focus city? T...

Re: AA drops ORD-PEK

The problem with starting flight in PHL is its proximity to EWR. People I know who live in PA close to NJ will simply drive to EWR or even JFK for flights to China. And people on the side can fly out of IAD. Could AA establish a flight to PEK out of PHL by drawing from NJ and DC area? They could, bu...

Re: AUS to become a Delta Focus City

Have people looked at how they can even grow to the size that some have mentioned here? You have to actually come up with places they may fly to. So far I came up with 5 cities which are all once a day flight. That brings the total to what. 25 or 30 flights? Where else do they add? They can’t be the...

because they'd get killed on that route. Same reason, they don't try EWR-TPA and cut EWR-MCO down to once daily. DL is not doing so hot on those 2 routes either btw. I guess I'm confused. If Delta is not doing well on the TPA-BOS market why are they adding a third flight? They are doing well on BOS...

How about TPA/MCO-BOS? They are logical adds in my opinion and don't know why WN never flew those routes. B6 had the BOS-TPA route for themselves for a while and then DL jumped in with 2 daily flights and now going up to 3. With DL, B6 and NK all serving the market with up to 9 flights as day South...

What I find interesting in this, is that AA, DL, and UA have been running an operation of (East Coast Feed)-to -ORD/DTW- to- (East Asia Primary cities). For an oneworld like myself in east coast, I'd pick JL or CX to fly direct or even connect at their nice airport rather than backtrack to PHL or CLT.
