Airlines are going to cut growth plan this year in us. Fares are not going up that much and costs are up substantially. Load factor is down. I don’t see how airlines can avoid cutting back growth after summer season.

AAG's fall schedule will be interesting to see. Domestic carriers had the largest average fare drop in April in recent times and carriers all had lower LFs (AAG had the largest drop again). Would not be surprised to see more cuts.

There were definite talks of JetBlue adding service to Tallahassee a while back but it never worked out. I see no reason why is can’t happen down the road. Of course, they are probably going to add places like ind stl and cvg first.

No, AA technically cannot draw down PHL and add 100 more daily flights to JFK because they have the gates but do not have the slots. The only way would be a lifting of slot restrictions, a slot swap with someone else, or a merger with B6. Actually meant the opposite, that if "somehow" AA ...

I think so. There is open skies between US and Canada. Historically, AC had always dominated transborder flights, because Canada side dominate the point of sale. outside of peak summer season, it seems unlikely to support daily service. Would love to see service from JFK in summer time though. There surely is a lot of leisure demand to go to Amalfi coast and Naples area.

Looking at departures for Friday, AS is over 120 and WN is at 44. Now a lot of AS is regional, but still a long way for WN to go before they can really hurt AS. It's also possible DL will make a play at PDX to annoy AS. But I think AS has rightfully determined PDX is safe for a while.

And before people get overly excited here. It’s important to note that on bos aus, one of their new routes, they had lower yield in q4 than their competitors. Both of whom have 20 to 25% lower cost. It’s not going to be an easy road for dl adding routes that are not their own hub.
