(even with the loss of KTX service from ICN https://kojects.com/2018/06/10/incheon-airport-ktx-suspended/). To be fair it wasn't that practical anyway, ICN bound trains would stop at Seoul station and Geomam forever. It was quicker (and marginally cheaper) to get off, check-in luggage and all then ...Jump to post
Definitely not. People don't realize how huge ATL-ICN is from an O&D perspective. ATL is the 5th largest US-Korea O&D market. Only LAX, NYC, HNL, and SFO are larger. ICN is ATL's single largest international O&D market (not LHR, not even CUN or YYZ). Much of this traffic originates from...Jump to post

AF used to send A380s to DXB about 5 years ago, then downgauged to a 777-200er. It has since gone to a 77W.Jump to post
SAA’s eventual fleet replacement will be an A330NEO/A350 fleet or a B787-8/9/10. (maybe with a few B777x’s). This will have to be decided sooner rather than later I have serious doubts about the 787 at SAA. Hot&high conditions at JNB just don't mix well with the 787, especially if then intend o...Jump to post
Besides geography, we're talking about 2 OW flights from BOS vs. 1xEK, 1xQR, 2xHU With QR the OW counter goes up to 3 (just nitpicking) And I'll add one more thought. If DL/KE are not careful SQ who have already announced that they are terminating ICN-LAX, could preempt them both by moving the rout...Jump to post

Getting a dozen or so widebodies could give VA enough o an international footprint to make joining an alliance worthwhile. NRT, HKG, SIN, LAX, JNB, PVG, PEK, ICN from SYD, MEL and maybe even BNE. (Yes I know 15 won't be enough for all of them) But of course that would imply quite a few changes such ...Jump to post

Privatization would make sense if the 2 airports were stagnant. But in recent years ORY has changed beyond recognition with new wings in both terminals, rebuilding the aprons, bridges here and there. Now they only need to lift the movement cap or at least alleviate it to take into account jet noise ...Jump to post
My initial thought was SIN. The A380 could be swapped out as this could easily be deployed on US routes but from how I understand is that the A380 flight to SIN is very popular. Perhaps 3 daily LHR-SIN but that may be too much. Plus I think the SIN-MEL market is pretty saturated now, especially wit...Jump to post
I do find it odd that’s the A359 is also getting a regional config - is that not a waste of a long haul aircrafts capability? 787-10 makes sense, but 359 confuses me Some routes just don't justify having a 787-10 on it and the A330s are on their way out so this is a way for them to streamline their...Jump to post

Lets say DL uses 77Ls on this route, realistically how would DL launch this from JFK, if it goes daily they would need to commit 2 77Ls to JFK, not too sure DL would do that. Does DTW have any 77Ls ? If not I see only ATL getting this route, unless they decide on a ATL-BOM-JFK-BOM-ATL for example. M...Jump to post
So I have to take a quick trip to Singapore from Paris and had a few questions regarding the equipment used. I was thinking of taking the scenic route and going through PVG. Is China Eastern's longhaul soft product any good ? I know the hard product on the 77W is pretty solid. If not I'll just fly A...Jump to post
It's not that uncommon, United isn't the only airline doing a "flight" by bus. We have a similar example here in the Netherlands where KLM serves Eindhoven and Maastricht by bus. A332 are planned to be refurbished soon so they aren't going anywhere for now. That is good news. Is the plan to fit them with the Premium Economy and Business seats that AF is using on the 789s? Also the expectation that much of the demand will be from legacy carriers on existing A380 routes from Europe to US. That means for one or more of BA, AF or LH, although I did wonder about IAG experimenting on, say, MAD - MEX for IB. This would allow AF and BA to test the waters for more A380 ops. ...Jump to post
