Somewhat unrelated since the incident aircraft was taxiing, but keep in mind pre-conditioned air units at the gate are not all built the same. Some at my airport can barely cool the cabin of a 73G in 25C weather... a 757 in 40C+ would be a sweatbox unless the units are very powerful. What condition...

Hmm, even if the airports had all of that extra snow removal equipment, would they have the trained staffing necessary to operate all of the machines? I doubt that that is as easy as calling the neighborhood temp agency and saying, "Send me fifty snowplow operators!"
