Xanax is a Schedule IV controlled substance in the United States. Hardly matters what it is in the US, but what matters its status is legality in both quantity and dosage in intended countries to be visited. OP said that he was visiting the US. Xanax is a Schedule IV controlled substance in the United States. You should be fine if you have a copy of the prescription and keep the medication in the original packaging.
