When are you going to fly? Flights to DXB with LH are B744 still. So upper deck on the 744 is very nice and the LH J-product is not that bad as others suggest.

Here’s a route map from their 1979 timetable which only shows Jakarta but no Denpasar. I doubt they actually flew into DPS before or after 1979. At least I couldn’t find anything...

All right. That's the first time I've heard of seperate seats for regular and premium economy, usually they're in the same seats. why does LH not retrieve some 340-600's from retirement? These could be helping out free-ing up 744s for the Berlin Airlift 2.0 ;) Can imagine that the 340-600 would not be capable of serving TXL due to the sheer length of the frame. LH has already been serving TXL with A340-600 from MUC in october...

Although nothing is definitely sure, I tend to think it wouldn't be wise to have such small fleet of this large aircraft while they could simply add frequencies on routes requiring it, using current fleet or by adding same size aircraft to it. AeroLogic is using "German Cargo" as callsign which belonged to German Cargo before.
German Cargo is now Lufthansa Cargo (since 1993) and so they use Lufthansa Cargo as callsign.

As far as i know the Kuwait Airways Combi wasn't used as such. It was the Emir's aircraft with a hospital section in the middle and the upper deck was always off limits for the public as it was the Emir's private area. As the State of Kuwait now has a 747-8 i don't know how the aircraft is used.

There's an interesting book published by BER's Architect Meinhard von Gerkan who was fired when politicians were looking for a culprit. It describes pretty well the desaster and some of the reasons why BER is what it is right now. Unfortunately the book is only available in german.

Perhaps Boeing could not legally transfer them to another customer until the Transaero bankruptcy court formally nullified the orders, and as I recall, that was not until 2017 - over a year after Boeing suggested them to Iran Air. Despite not being Argentine i would say La Nacion is a reliable source. The main reason for considering selling the Embraer is that they are too small for Australs (Aerolineas Argentinas) needs. Anyway until now no decision has been made so they might stay with Austral for a while.
