Re: American Airlines Sets Retirement Date for MD-80s

Here's a nice blog article I found that might interest some folk: https://airlinegeeks.com/2018/08/07/the-quest-for-one-last-flight-an-ode-to-the-md-80/ I tried really hard to enjoy that airlinegeeks.com web site but honestly my opinion is the content is "high school report" quality, and ...

All of their scheduled service is on the ERJ-145's. They are building Focus Cities in AUS and SFB. They had some EAS markets in West Virginia but have been booted from most of them. They use the ULCC terminal in AUS. Oh wow! Focus city in Austin! I know some Austin Fanboys who want Delta to make a ...

only thing that would make it worse would be for AA to allow a bunch of anetter armchair wannabe CEOs run it

Re: Has AA Slipped Behind UA to Become The Number 3 Airline?

Are we talking about airline size? THAT is based on RPMs...soooo...whoever has the most RPMs is #1,....2nd largest would be #2...and 3rd largest would be #3 I'm not sure what we are talking about to be honest on this thread as most of the service metrics posted are here are subjective. By RPM.... 1...

Re: JAX Non Stop West Coast Service

JAX is similarly too close to another airport that overshadows.... in this case it's ATL, the world's busiest and can take you anywhere you need to go with an extra 45 minute flight to JAX. the population statistics of Jacksonville itself are really irrelevant. It's well served already. You could s...

I think the most important expansion detail you've left out was yesterday's Whattaburger announcement, also part of the E-Satellite project. This is indeed the most important element of this! WOW!!! I hope it leads to locations in all the terminals! As someone NOT from TX I'm sure this opinio...

Re: Why doesn't WN serve PSP?

This comes up every month or so. Obviously WN feels they can deploy their assets elsewhere and do better financially. Also, PSP is about 72 miles from ONT which is served by WN. same reason they dont fly to airports like XNA. They get the people who really want to fly SW anyway, by having them trav...

I wasn’t a huge fan of the AA rebrand, but the livery has grown on me, I think they could have done so much more with it, the thing I find the most a shame is that AA when coming out of bankruptcy, were launching brand new cabins, service, livery... it looked to be fantastic, and somewhere along th...

Re: Airline Skews

While that is interesting, and it's good you did this, AA considers LAX a hub and is in fact the largest airlines there at the moment. Both DL and AA also use JFK/LGA as a hub so you've missed some routes there. AA's network would be more complete with those routes and it would be easy to see that ...

airbus gambled on a380 and lost...huge capacity and huge price tag on single plane with low frequency vs
smaller capacity and lower price tag and higher frequency.
i know the a380 has its fanboys but this is just putting lipstick on a pig
