Someone might buy Monarch's engineering and maintenance but that's about it. Monarch leased everything. There was lots of problems leading up to their collapse.
1 reason is that they had a decent percentage of their business in countries like Egypt and countries like Tunisia but those markets collapsed and monarch had to restructure their routes.
Other people will explain better into other problems.

Flybe is cutting a few routes from London Southend, and one of them is Cologne/Bonn. Why can't Flybe make Cologne/Bonn work from Birmingham or even London Southend? This is the second time the airline will be pulling out of the airport. Even Air France and KLM cut Cologne/Bonn as well too, and Easy...

These could potentially replace the openskies B752s which operate from ORY.Level are considering opening a Paris base therefore IAG could merge openskies&Level together into the Level brand and possibly move ops from ORY to CDG.

Correct me if I am wrong, wasn't Monarch almost went into liquidation few years ago when their bank account almost dried up and they were limping from one "paycheck" to another year on year? Last year I believe. Thanks, I still struggle to understand the need to move over to Boeing fleet ...

Where did their 330s go? That interior has to be the worst of any airplane ever. My last flight with them saw 50 people on an A330 flight. About one row per passenger, but that didn't make those seats bearable. Or stop gate people at gatwick spend a comical amount of time measuring peoples carry on...

So it's odd DY hasn't done MAN-USA flights. That's exactly what Monarch would do with the MAX. This seems like a choreographed dance. It may all be Monarch manipulating DY, but I don't doubt it's true. Otoh, Monarch hasn't even gotten the MAX yet. Pretty early days. Not really at the time at launch...

Why would DY want to invest in something ailing? Lots of reasons maintenance (Monarchs BHX base seems to get Norwegian B787s) Large bases at Manchester&Birmimgham One of the most important are they got quite a few aircraft based at Gatwick and 45 B737 MAXs coming starting 2018 Plus other bases ...
