We will not see level at LGW for a while. They don't need them at Gatwick simply as they roll on the new cabins for Gatwick on the 777s they will fine and able to match Norwegian as the cabin is larger on the BA 777s. Plus it would also mean training up pilots and cabin crew for A330 aircraft the ai...Jump to post

Which personal attacks? I could see none whatsoever. Are you sure you’re posting this in the correct thread?

Someone might buy Monarch's engineering and maintenance but that's about it. Monarch leased everything. I assume that the slots will be put up for auction as part of the liquidation but I dont think there's anything else that anyone would want. Monarch Aircraft Engineering Limited is now a separate...Jump to post
There was lots of problems leading up to their collapse.
1 reason is that they had a decent percentage of their business in countries like Egypt and countries like Tunisia but those markets collapsed and monarch had to restructure their routes.
Other people will explain better into other problems.
Jet2 Summer 2018: 482 weekly flights to 42 destinations. 19 aircraft based (18 in full use, one on standby), an increase of 2 aircraft. Palma now sees 5 flights on Saturdays, including an A330 flight. Bergerac and Verona are new routes for S18, Toulouse is dropped (still served ex-MAN by Flybe). --...Jump to post

If this deal fails, Boeing can go back to the planned 2015-2016 massive layoffs in the US. Boeing last year finalized a $16.6 billion deal to sell 80 aircraft to Iran Air, Iran’s flagship airline which is owned by the Islamic republic. While it was said the deal had been "finalised", Boei...Jump to post
Flybe is cutting a few routes from London Southend, and one of them is Cologne/Bonn. Why can't Flybe make Cologne/Bonn work from Birmingham or even London Southend? Correct me if I am wrong, wasn't Monarch almost went into liquidation few years ago when their bank account almost dried up and they were limping from one "paycheck" to another year on year? Where did their 330s go? That interior has to be the worst of any airplane ever. My last flight with them saw 50 people on an A330 flight. About one row per passenger, but that didn't make those seats bearable. Or stop gate people at gatwick spend a comical amount of time measuring peoples carry on...Jump to post

So it's odd DY hasn't done MAN-USA flights. That's exactly what Monarch would do with the MAX. This seems like a choreographed dance. It may all be Monarch manipulating DY, but I don't doubt it's true. Otoh, Monarch hasn't even gotten the MAX yet. Pretty early days. Not really at the time at launch...Jump to post
Why would DY want to invest in something ailing? Lots of reasons maintenance (Monarchs BHX base seems to get Norwegian B787s) Large bases at Manchester&Birmimgham One of the most important are they got quite a few aircraft based at Gatwick and 45 B737 MAXs coming starting 2018 Plus other bases ...Jump to post
