Re: Will Ryanair order 737-9/10 MAX

Wouldn’t the extra FA be needed because of an additional door? If so, FR should just go MAX 10 at Y234-Y240. As it is, FR birds are also attractive to lessors for secondhand purchases. The only question is if built-in aft airstairs deployed by the captain can be included as well.

Re: Why did DL/UA cut NRT-JFK-NRT?

UA did serve JFK-NRT. They bought two high-MTOW B742s at 377t specifically for the route, N151UA and N152UA (however, they became obsolete a few years later when the 747-400 was introduced). DL cut NRT as part of a draw-down of NRT operations as they have no feed there. That was a hold-over from Nor...

Re: High altitude flights by commercial airliners

The aircraft I usually see at 43,000 feet would be the latest generation aircraft such as a Dreamliner or an A350. When Qatar sent out A7-ALG to JFK on the first airline appearance of an airline-operated A359 to North America, it cruised over the Atlantic at 43,000 feet. That said, why does the A35K...

The 767-300 will lift more payload volume and more payload weight than an A300-600RF and fly it farther. Ditto the 777 Freighter and the MD-11F. The A35K is slightly narrower than the B77W and is exactly the same length as it. Its exit-limit capacity is 440 (same as the A359 since it's just 4 doors). I don't believe it's too big.
