I believe it wil be. The only other A350-1000 route at present is DOH-LHR-DOH on QR. I am not sure if any airline uses the A359 to IAD but I don't think there is any. I don't believe there is any A350 service to IAD at all, so this may be the first regularly scheduled A350 service into IAD. Yeah, I...Jump to post

I wouldn't but it past EK to enter DEN, and I bet they will sometime down the road.
I'm also surprised there's no service from AF/KL. I could see one of those 2 or DL launching service to either CDG or AMS
If not one of those, it'd probably be a Star Alliance carrier who jumps in
Well with the Boeing-Embraer partnership, my money is on the 717-100, an ERJ-145 with new engines and upgraded systems...
In all honesty, I don't know if anything will really ever replace them. The 70/76 seaters may be the closest we get to a replacement.
IND-GRU. Make it happen. The entire IND-GRU market both ways is only 18 pax a day. How would that be attractive to any carrier? IND’s best bet is Copa to PTY. I think his comment was a bit "tongue in cheek" considering someone came onto this thread a while back screaming that a carrier sh...Jump to post

Maybe they could buy more narrowbody mainline jets instead of flying the E170/5 on routes like ORD-LGA/BOS/DCA and IAH-LGA/DCA/DFW/PHL. Those aircraft are more comfortable than 757, 737, A320 series. Can you clarify what you mean? If I have to add two cents, I'd point out on-time ratio. Mainly capa...Jump to post
I'm now seeing on the JFK Wikipedia Page that DL is launching BUC on March 11, 2019 and BUD on March 25, 2019. DL's certainly not going to be flying to a small city in north-central Australia... I'm guessing you mean Bucharest (OTP) which, along with BUD, they launched then cancelled not very long ...Jump to post
I could also see them adding markets like MHT, LIT, BGR, CHA, BHM, MKE, and PNS, with markets like MSN and SBN being a stretch, but possible. I agree that the lack of IAD-MKE nonstop service is a huge hole since MKE is one of the largest markets that doesn't have any nonstop service to IAD. UA also...Jump to post
United today said that they see an opportunity to grow at Dulles. I see room to grow in new Mid-Atlantic markets such as BYH, PHF, AVL, AVP, and ABE. In most of these cities, AA and DL have multiple flights a day to their hubs with only a couple having service to EWR or ORD. https://www.flightgloba...Jump to post
What about Hilton Head Island HXD? American Eagle is the only operator there. The Dash 8s are supposed to be completely retired next year and unless the runway is extended to accommodate regional jets, they will be without service. Could silver come in and find a way to sustain airline service to t...Jump to post

MIA-LPB on AA must be now making a stop at VVI both directions . It used to be just the northbound due to elevation out of LPB. J1 might as well just call it a day. Must be GROSSLY mismanaged. DTW-TVC on DL appears to be a reversal correction from last weeks load. LPB is being cut entirely. Am I co...Jump to post

This is something I've thought about for a long time. What if Northwest had bought Delta instead of the other way around? What would the fleet look like? Where would the hubs be? Which (if any) cites would be de-hubbed? Discuss. Here's some of what I think would happen -NW would de-hub MEM (like DL)...Jump to post

Wasn’t there a picture of all of the flight attendants just prior to boarding? This was from the day of the crash, but earlier. Before the plane left for NY. If I recall correctly, only 2 of the flight attendants died. Almost all of them survived. https://static.thisdayinaviation.com/wp-content/upl...Jump to post
In a nutshell - Essentially the auto pilot would disengage on one side at say 10 lbs of pressure while the other would disconnect at say 15 lbs. While struggling with the bulb the yoke with lower pressure was bumped and the autopilot disengaged. None of the crew noticed this as the captain and copi...Jump to post
This hasn't been posted yet, so I might as well start it. On December 29, 1972 Eastern Airlines flight 401 crashed in the Florida Everglades while in a holding pattern near Miami International Airport. The cause was the 3-man crew being distracted by a broken 12 dollar landing gear lightbulb. The pl...Jump to post

No surprise that DL dropped CVG-MEM. Didn't see it lasting long after DL dehubbed MEM. A good chance that'll be DL's last route drop from CVG for a while. Don't be surprised if they add CVG-AUS and maybe CVG-MSY soon. I hope you are right, a few of the regional routes are struggling, but I think th...Jump to post
