How are transfers at CDG now days?
I had heard some difficult stories a while back...
It would be nice if IND had a contingency plan with some healthy competition to LHR...

Re: Indianapolis Aviation Thread 2017

Thanks for taking the time to look up all these pdew's. interesting that Wn is dropping DCA. As of this Thursday AA is 6x with E175's 76-80 seats ea. So that's is 456-480 seats daily. Do you think we will see anybody else try and compete against AA? DL, AS? Still waiting for AS to start SAN, and PD...

RE; IND-AMS, as hip as it may be, weighs in at #24 on the brookings institute report (2011) -14.3%, 5492 pax/yr and would be good for hardly any o&d and probably cannibalize our chances for LHR, FRA, ect.... due to it's proximity. I also don't know of any direct business ties. In order accordin...

Re: Indianapolis Aviation Thread

Switching gears from TATL talk.... I saw it mentioned in another thread, but what are the chances that IND gets TPAC service in the next decade? Hear me out... Among all U.S. states, Indiana has the largest amount of Japanese investment per capita and is the only state that is home to three Japanes...

Re: Indianapolis Aviation Thread

Interesting. Could this be in response to the more than rumors of a TATL in STL? Just as an update--WN opened new gates in STL without expanding service, presumably to vacate international gates they use for domestic flights, and the city announced intentions of building gates that could support a ...

Re: Which second-tier US cities can support Trans-Atlantic Flights?

$5-10 million per year is how much the governor said he planned to allocate for overseas and domestic flights Anything approaching $10MM per year would be essentially unprecedented in attracting TATL service, and if that were the case, some airline would've probably announced on the instant it was ...

Re: Which second-tier US cities can support Trans-Atlantic Flights?

I'm surprised at how little discussion there is of the equipment required to fly some of these suggested routes, particularly the equipment required to match demand and route length. Many airlines simply don't have the right aircraft to fly some of these really long, thinner-than-thin routes. AA/DL...

Re: Indianapolis Aviation Thread

Quick question, why doesn't DL fly the IND-SLC in the winter I assume their is more traffic to slc during the winter. Why? People in Indiana don't really ski. Some do, yes, but most would rather go to an island in the Caribbean. Or Vegas. No kidding, the islands have my vote. They probably extended...

Re: Indianapolis Aviation Thread

Okay lets be up front about this, Indianapolis is not getting nonstop to PVD, ONT, SMF, SJC, SNA, SJU, BDL, or SAT until Indianapolis becomes a connecting city for an airline. There isn't enough demand from Indianapolis to 7 different destinations in California, plus those routes would dilute the r...

Re: Indianapolis Aviation Thread

Is Indy in range to Europe on a 757 or is it going to have to be a 787 or bigger? 757 is too close to the limit of range, so it is dangerous to fly all the way to europe from indy. The a321neo is another alternative to the 787 I am surprised. LHR is at 3467nmi and the 757-200 is rated at 3915 a dif...

What would you do with the $5mil 2 year Gov Holcomb is proposing?
Does enough demand exist for a 2x daily to IND from FWA, SBA and EVV on it’s own or as a feeder for TATL flights?

Re: Indiana Aviation: Part 16

Some of it I assume has to do with plane size. I don't know if a 757 can make the flight from IND (people on here would know better than me). I know it can't from STL (Which had 14 mil passangers this year and no TATL flight because of the 757 reason also). The Delta flight is on a 757 so they don'...
