Flew NW from ORD-Sel in the 80s. Had to be a 747-200 in that time frame.
Jump to post1. I can't remember the last time an airport built such a large drop-off zone right in-front of the terminal. It seems like the trend is rather to rely on people movers and build intermodal infrastructure. It also seems this might be oversized when the REM line is up and running. Have you been drop...

Jump to postCI on the 777-300ER and A350 has a really nice Cabin with "wood" accents. More airline specific than actual aircraft driven. But as I see above everything is in the eye of the beholder as someone else said CI looked tired. Maybe different aircraft...
Jump to postUA is moving their hub from IAH to SAT because of the Alamo. ;) Joking aside, I don't know the SAT market so I'll just ask what are the chances it's Avelo or the return of Breeze? I’m disappointed it took until the 43rd response for someone to have brought this up. This is clearly the correct answe...
Jump to postFor me any of the midnight to 1 am departures to tpe or hkg from sfo. Tend to be exhausted and end up sleeping even in coach. Business class would get a good 6 to 8 hours and be great when I arrive.

TPA

For accuracy, metro Orlando is over a million people larger than metro Tampa.
Although already a hub perhaps an expansion in LA along with expansion of their terminal footprint. Fits sunny and would be doable compared to most of the options in the thread.

Jump to postI forgot one that was brutal. 3 am departure from dar es salaam to Istanbul. No sleep before and then connected onward to sfo. Brutal but Business class so could have been way worse.
Jump to postOk time to move away from the fallacy that AA is even close to UA across the Pacific. The acquisition of Pan Am's Pacific network really was the beginning of the industry we know today. After this consolidation moved into high gear for better or worse. Northwest Republic, then Delta Western, and on ...
Jump to postEcho SF)/OAK - DFW were awful ones. Also Frontier DEN-TPA was not good. Also although longer any of US Europe flights where you get in early and if not in Business class, minimal rest and can't check into a hotel until 3 PM. Those are always tough for me, so I try to schedule ones that arrive later ...
Jump to postCould Delta bid for this slot with a second lax slot?
Jump to postI've got an upcoming flight right now with EVA Air in business class and I am getting concerned about the potential for a strike to disrupt my travel plans. Right now, I can get the equivalent China Airlines flight (same route, same fare, and about the same timing) for about the same price; should ...
Jump to postThey flew SEL-SFO-DEN. Not sure why, but my guess is low loads. I thought it was a tag on to LAX? Thanks for the replies :) ! After further research, apparently it was Gimpo (SEL, not ICN in those days of course) - SFO - Denver. An old A.Net thread claimed it only had 20% load factors :o I wonder i...

Jump to postI love this list, lemme suggest : UA flew MIA-SCL until the early 2000s, AA flew JFK/MIA-LIM-CUZ in 96 Author said from 2004 on so that excludes those. Did the routes have to originate in the US? If not many more out of NRT for DL and UA. Also India routes out of AMS for DL. I suspect DL has higher...
Jump to postLiving in Denver kind of spoiled with options domestically. UA probably 1. International different game as not that many options. Jump to postA strange route was the weekly GRU-MPN by LATAM until de pandemic, once a month they stopped in COR. The Falkland government subsized the route. Jump to postSure, but 3 ORD-LAX r/ts will take out 12-15 current in-perimeter LGA flights. For the last three years, small plane/thin route services have been constrained. Not too surprised to see DFW EZE suspending - Argentina's struggling economically at the moment and DL and UA only serve EZE from one hub at the moment.
Back in the day NW used to for years fly MIA-GCM. I believe it was inherited from republic and must have made sense at one time but was an odd route in the NW network.

Going to the south pacific in DL, you are going to connect at LAX, From West coast to Mexico/Central America, going to connect at LAX. I can go on, but ...
