I guess I can say I was a bit flattered when AA started sending its 32Bs from DFW to replace almost all the MD80s it sent from there while other medium sized cities still had a slew of dogs (that's not a derogatory term; I just like calling them that). This was right around August 2016 when they re...Jump to post
Again, you don't add new transcon flights in the middle of winter! It's the wrong season to launch such a service. You need to understand the concept of seasonality. Not all traffic demand is created equal. I agree that WN might not be adding LAX-IAD, OAK-IAD, and SJC-IAD nonstop service in Thursda...Jump to post
With STL-IND being less than a 4 hour drive, I just can't imagine why anyone would opt to fly it rather than drive it, especially since they're both cities where you'd more than likely need to rent a car once you land. I get why you'd fly STL-MDW/ORD - parking at a downtown Chicago hotel can be 70 ...Jump to post
Found this on the airport. There is a short interview with the airport director. Key points: Pretty happy with service to the coasts but looking to add shorter routes. IND, SDF, JAX mentioned (this was before F9 added JAX) Talked about TATL and threw out some cities like AMS, London, DUB, and Paris,...Jump to post
https://d1j6zi7czwjuok.cloudfront.net/iaa-images/arts-program/04_Apr-Airline-Activity-Report.pdf April numbers are released. If I read the data correctly, it looks like we have 12% growth compared to April 2017. That puts us at a YTD growth (Jan, Feb, Mar, & Apr) of 10.4%. Curious to see how th...Jump to post
Also to expand on my post from this morning I emailed back a reply then got a reply back that included. "please stayed tuned in for new destination announcements in the near future." Not that we know what "near" is, but I thought it was of note. Not anything official, but "...Jump to post
May numbers are out. 1.4 mil for the month. Up 7.2% over last May Up 5.2% on the year On pace for 15.5 mil this year, which would put the airport at his highest levels since 2003. Hopefully summer numbers can push that a bit higher. https://www.flystl.com/uploads/documents/public-notices-and-reports...Jump to post

why would one flight to Europe need two gates? It wouldn't need two but if you are going to renovate a gate you are also going to do the one across the walkway from it. It wouldn't make much sense to just redo the waiting area for one gate then have one non renovated right across the hall. They wan...Jump to post
Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to try to stop by sometime to watch it take off or land. Also, a new PFC is out. Nothing too exciting (snow equipment) and some rework to T1 pickups and baggage. Hopefully it helps baggage times from the plane to the claim. https://www.flystl.com/uploads/documents/...Jump to post
Although AA still is. Apparently some are on flight 5772 right now.

Just announced today, the same guy that setup JetBlue is launching a new US LCC. They have ordered 60 CS300 aircraft. If the airline actually comes to fruition, I would imagine we could see this airline in some Ohio airports. http://montrealgazette.com/business/local-business/aerospace/jetblue-spin...Jump to post

Landing yesterday morning, I saw what looked like an all white 757 (could only see the back 1/4 of the fuselage and tail) parked under the white open hangar on the Boeing part of the field, just North of 12L/30R. Anyone know what it is? I looked through arrivals and couldn't find anything. Do not r...Jump to post
Can someone possibly explain better to me what this is all about? And what it means if anything for the airport.

It's been a while since I've been in E or T2, but could the biggest problem for *major* SW growth be baggage and ticketing check/in areas, followed in a distant third by security lanes? What say you local STL peeps? They have plenty of security lanes. They just added another one. 7 now I think. Tic...Jump to post

As I transfer at ATL today, I was surprised to see stone artworks from Africa in the tunnel between A and T. Why Africa? Seems like there should be something to show Atlanta. I did not have time to venture to the other concourses. Do the other tunnels have art from other places? Does it progress to...Jump to post
Since the article says "exciting new domestic and international" that narrows it down to a domestic airline since they are the only ones that can fly domestic. Why not a domestic and a international carrier?? Nothing states it has to be just one airline. I considered that but it said anno...Jump to post

Random thing I found. WN is currently running a 10:55 to PHX. This has to be the latest scheduled flight they have had out of STL. I can't remember anything later than that. On top of that they are running it out of E31. I am a little surprised they are running it right next to the WOW flight (which...Jump to post

While I generally agree, my most recent E175 flight on Compass was about the most uncomfortable flight I've ever been on. Zero legroom. Crew was great, though. Interesting. True, but re Q400 v E175, the E175 is clearly, empirically, a better passenger experience. It's not just reputation. QX E175s have first class, have premium, have wifi/free texting, fly faster and higher, are quieter and have larger overhead bins. They're much better planes to fly in. I would rathe...Jump to post
I was curious on how many people went through STL a day compared to other airports, so I messaged them and asked. They responded with “Approximately 40,000 people go through STL a day”. As for the future, they already operate MSY and the seemingly-promised LGA ship may have sailed, at least for now. I think they're the leading candidate for the SAN service CMH wants and could see MCI added. LAX might be a bit crowded with DL and AA, but maybe all three could coexist on the route? ...Jump to post

At least in the USA, imo: This is a little simplified but for the most part seems to be true: Full service- has First/business class seats (not counting some 50 seat RJS) LCC - Only coach but the coach services are pretty much the same as coach services on full service airlines. Do any airlines still let you listen on board through their system? I know some used to. United as mentioned first, I remember listening to it while landing in a storm in Denver.

B6 will enter cvg when the time is right. It’s just very slow at introducing new stations. It’s not nk or f9. Delta only makes good money on about 5 routes out of Boston.
