Better replace all a320s with a321s. Slightly bigger aircraft is enough to reduce congestion for time being. Having multiple aircraft types in domestic increases the cost which no airline wants. Agree with that. It is quite strange that none of the carriers have placed a large order for A321/737-9....

That doesn't really answer the question posed by the OP does it because there were, NO PROP JETS AND NO PURE JETS in the 1920s and 1930's! They don't have any vacant aircraft capable of flyind to Delhi right now. Most probably they will start this with one of their upcoming A330-900 NEO, which will be delivered around September this year.

I fly this route quite often. Its barely 1 hour long (the longest that I have experienced is 1:45 hours, because of bad weather). I honestly never experienced turbulence even once.
