as much as i love AV but they've always done what's best for them. Their expansion policy is very conservative their prices are crazy high specially where there is no competition and they managed to kick out every competition. i do miss the good old days when ACES SAM and AV were around .. off topic...

Avianca never served Stockholm. The photo on this website showing an Avianca 747 was a one off flight to the Nobel Prize ceremony. Information on Wikipedia is probably derived from that photo. BWIA served Stockholm in the late 80s. So did Cubana for a couple of years aswell some 15 years ago or so....

why did TK start flights to CCS? The country is in a lot of trouble at the moment, and many airlines are leaving/reducing operations into the country. He was doubting between flying Ethiopian (the cheapest), Turkish (second cheapest) and Qatar (more expensive but shortest layover). Aires which was later bought by LAN used to operate some dash q for regional flights they later will discontinued to use only B737. Avianca on the other hand still has 12 ATR which were delivered recently in service and they do regional flights. In colombia Satena basically covers most of the region...
