No such thing as "LAA" anymore, only American. Plus most routes are now operated by a mix of LAA and LUS aircraft. AA Tech Ops has not integrated the fleets so LAA and LUS fleets still exist. The planes have been intergrated, but not the workforce, but some cities they are cross utilized....

That's honestly true. I believe CTS used to have flights to HNL on Hawaiian Airlines. That might've been on an A330 though, which could've been too much capacity. No doubt it was on an A330 or at least a wide body. Until the A321XLR came around, narrow bodies had insufficient range for these routes...

4000 nm shouldn't be a problem. Even the Douglas DC-8-63 had 4000 nm range.

LATAM has no plans to retire the 767 and are introducing a new interior product arguably more comfortable than their 787. In fact, they replaced their A330s with the 767. I don't believe AA would use a 772 on those routes... not yet. That's a pretty large increase in capacity. Looks like with the modifications on hold AA will stay on plan to retire a/c this year even if the Max doesn't come back online until sometime post summer. So I'm assuming by the EOY the MD80s, E190s (I think they go this year) and LUS 757s will be gone. FWIW, I saw quite a few 757s flying into DFW...

Some opinions on this thread are preposterous as they often are with DL threads. DL's Asia "gateway" is SEA and/or ICN, not DTW. UA didn't replace 744 with 789, but with 77W and lots of capacity shifting around in a Asia market fraught with ruinous competition.
