That's simply not true Keejse.The MAX is an equal competitor to the NEO.Together it's a very comfortable duopoly.Infact it borders on the illegal.No wonder both are cash engines for the two OEM's.The backlogs will continue for both. Now that Embraer appear to have moved up a market segment (E2) it appears ( am no expert at all) that they ( MRJ) have a little niche All to themselves other than older products.Certainly Bombardier 220 is far too big.So perhaps this aircaft will do ok.
Hope it does as is a nice looking aircraft.

If the 787-10 gains traction ( too early to say really).They might wish to revisit their origonal -1000 proposal which was ( as I recall) a straight stretch of the dash9.Trading range for pax.They have all the 'bits' now so wouldn't be too difficult I imagine.

We're GE ever invited/interested in the 330neo? I genuinely don't know the answer other than RR got the exclusive.GE had already developed a bleed off the core for the cropped 748 version.I imagine they could have applied this to the 'full fan' 787 engine.Perhaps then Airbus could have got this airc...
