I would say those numbers are pretty respectable for the first winter of a new flight. My experience on DUB-CLE on March 25 was similar-I estimated about an 83% load.

Per FB: "Approximately 6 pm there was an incident involving a small private aircraft. Emergency responders are on scene. The airfield is currently closed, we will advise when it has reopened." Wonder what happened. Still have not seen any news reports.

The FAA cannot block the construction of a domed stadium across from the airport, but could only make a recommendation to local officials. Spirit is retrenching at CLE. It will cut LAS and only fly to FLL, MCO, MYR, and LAX this summer. It used to fly to 12 nonstop destinations from CLE. Limited construction - I suppose that's better than nothing. $175M doesn't go very far now, does it. The entire phase I is estimated to be close to $1B. Looks like Frontier is moving to their new and larger ticket counter next to AA effective March 1. They will have 12 positions vs. 6 now. Let's hope it improves customer service significantly as the airline expands in CLE. If I knew how to post a pic, I would.

Some more Spirit Cleveland cuts: ATL. cancelled. April till May 7 MIA. cancelled April to May 7 MCO. reduced April and May LAS. reduced. April and May I didn't even realize anything other than FLL, MCO and LAS were on the schedule. There have been some days when there were only 2 flights on Spirit....

Looks like you slipped in an extra “not” in there CLEguy towards the end. TLDR: good airfield, not good terminal/parking/ground transportation entry. Should a dome be built in Brookpark and that’s a huge if, the highway redesign to accommodate it and the airport would be pretty substantial and cost...

I did my own rough calculations based solely on past data from 2019, 2022 and 2023 YTD, and I can't quite seem to get CLE to 10M pax; it's almost there. Just annualizing based on 2023 YTD, I get 9.88M . I have no insight into what the actual loads have been in November and December. But anecdotally...

Today is a much calmer day at CLE with only 7 flight cancellations showing, including several on UA due to the Max 9 fiasco. I also saw the Alaska CLE-PIT-(SEA) flight on the board. Due to required inspections, several Max 9 flights cancelled today at CLE incl. on United (287 to LAX and 776 to EWR) and Alaska (330 from/to SEA). Of course, AC also cancelled its one and only flight to YYZ (no idea why).
