ATA also did charters but I'm not sure if they were on 757's or L-1011's. Martinair also ran charters for one summer to AMS (1988), but I believe they were on 757's, too.

TWA never had wide-body service to Cleveland. It was a change of aircraft at JFK. Only wide body service from Cle on a regular schedule was: United 747, Dc-10, 767-200, 767-300 AA Dc-10 NWA Dc-10. Good to see the new director getting some things done. On the other hand, I reviewed the new AA gates. Some are super nice with lighting and carpet, some kept the old lighting and carpet. I don't think NK could park 3 A320-sized planes in that tight space that was originally built for Allegheny's BAC 1-11's and DC-9's (and the occasional Allegheny Commuter Heron). So they removed the A4 jetway and blocked the door.

CLE and PIT serve metropolitan areas of simliar size, as measured by Combined Statistical Areas (I think this is the most accurate measure of catchment area), although Cleveland is bigger by about 800K people. Update on AA's move to C. It looks like they should be there by May 15, and they're only taking 5 gates (C3, 5, 7, 9, 11). Ticket counter and baggage area will remain at the north end of the terminal for the time being.

Also found out today that they use A9 as an extra gate when they have 2 aircraft operating at the same time and they've been assigned baggage carousel #5 (I've never seen it in regular operation ever!). Counter staff said that loads have been pretty good in their first week of service at CLE.

This is correct. Allegiant is using the same ticket counter that charters use, and has been generally using A11, a common-use gate.
