Heathrow to shut Terminal 4 until end of next year https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-55271572 The hotel I have booked doesn't have a shuttle. It is within walking distance of Terminal 4, so it doesn't really need to provide one. At the moment it is closed until the end of February. But now that H...

Jump to postThanks for the link to the Dan Air site Debonair.
Koosi I noticed the circular bolt pattern on my picture, but couldn't find any BAC 1-11 photos that replicated it.
I see what you mean about the hole in the Caravelle fin.
Looks like it is definitely a BAC 1-11.
Sorry memories and details are a bit limited, I was only about a year old at the time. In my original post, I said it was taken in 1973. But my Mother seems to think it was late 1974. Which tends to tie in more with my age at the time. I've had a look at some Caravelle and BAC 1-11 photos. The fin o...

Sorry, for whatever reason, the photo won't attach.

Hi, I found some old photos from a holiday I went on as a child. Including the one below showing an aircraft wing. Airplane.jpg I think it is the wing of a BAC 1-11. The flight was from Teesside (MME) to Majorca (PMI) in 1973. It was probably operated by Dan Air. I've logged my flights for the last ...
Jump to postLast week I was on an RJ-85, sat in a window seat, just under the wing. The middle seat next to me was empty and their was a passenger sat in an aisle seat. The presence of the wing means that the overhead bins are smaller. So much so that the passenger in the aisle seat had to put his bag on the fl...
Jump to postA couple of weeks ago I visited Brasil, arriving in Rio De Janeiro Galeao and travelling onto Campinas. I was really disappointed to see that Terminal 1 had effectively closed down and become a domestic pier. The first time I visited Rio De Janeiro Galeao was in 1978. Terminal 1 was one year old and...

The LATAM livery has really grown on me. Add that with KLM, DL, TWA final, and WY I think the LATAM livery is okay, but there is too much white. I much prefer the last LAN livery. 4489423 I also think the older LAN livery looked good. 1164926 I hate the new Iberia livery (which I'm travelling on to...
Jump to postI'm booked on an NCL-AMS flight which is scheduled as an F70.
The seat map even shows an F70.
I've taken 25 flights on a 757; - Twenty charter flights between the UK and the Mediterranean. - Four domestic flights between NCL and LHR with BA. - One Delta 757-300 flight from MCO to DTW. My first 757 flight was in 1993 and my last was in 2011. Can't believe it has been six years since I have fl...

Jump to postMy first wide body flight in 1978 from LHR to GIG. I was five years old and could not believe how big the cabin was. Jump to postWhy should I purchase an extra meal in the airport, if I've already paid for a meal as part of my flight package? Sounds like BA owes you some meat. Jump to postI wouldn't forget any one of them. The VFW-Fokker 614 only had about 13 aircraft in airline operation with Cimber Air, Air Alsace and Touraine Air Transport. It looked a little bit silly, even ugly, with it's over wing mounted engines. But I remember reading about aircraft like this in my teens and ...
Jump to postEven people who love meat don't eat it with every meal. I'm sure this applies to you too. It is very rare that I don't have meat with a main meal. Jump to postI don't track aircraft I've flown on FR24, but I do keep an eye on them to see if they have been sold on to a new airline or been scrapped at the end of their lives. Jump to postI flew BA a couple of days ago.. For whatever reason, I ended up being the last person to be served my meal. By which point they had run out of chicken, so the only option left was pasta. Jump to postThe delay is now down to 16 mins.
Maybe like masgniw suggests it is some sort of auto estimate.
The flight is to Florida, not the North East.
I'm travelling to the US with BA on Saturday.
When I looked at their mobile app last night, it said the flight was delayed 25 mins, due to a late arriving aircraft.
This morning it said the delay was now 29 mins.
How do they know that two or three days before departure?

I wondered if it had something to do with bankrupcy laws in Brasil.
Oksman, I only saw it from a distance, but one of the parked aircraft at Congonhas looked like an A300.
Can anyone confirm this?
Last week I visited Salvador. My flight went via Sao Paulo - Congonhas. I noticed there were still old Vasp aircraft parked at both airports.
