It’s a cheaper area than Burbank. Here in the STS area Walmart, McDonalds and other low-wage employers have no difficulty finding employees.

I’ve found that airfares between the USA and Mexico have become very expensive. The exception to this is flights to SJD, PVR and CUN.

I used to be able to easily find roundtrips between SFO and MEX for around $200 on both UA and AM but these days you’re lucky to see anything under $500.

It’s not an equivalent market. Think of Canada, USA, Mexico, Central America and the Carribean creating a single aviation market. Volaris or Viva Aerobus is now allowed to fly from LAX to DEN using Mexican crews on Mexican wages. That’s the equivalent of Ryanair in the European market.

Amazing coincidence that 26A and 26B were unoccupied. Imagine if AS had blocked those seats due to having known about an issue with the plug. Perhaps earlier passengers had complained about noise or air flow or something. I know I’ve sat next to exit doors before and been very cold.

LON-NYC has a massive market at each end. But I agree that yields must be poor. I feel like they should focus on high fare routes like London to South America, London to South Africa. I could imagine flying from London to somewhere like Johur Bahru as an alternative for SIN might work.

We had a delay on Easyjet after we had to return to the gate because a passenger said something that hurt a member of the crew’s feelings. Passenger was removed then the crew member refused to fly because her feelings were too hurt. Easyjet refused compensation.

This is good news for the Bay Area. Fares to Mexico have gotten really expensive and services have been reduced by other carriers. Aeromexico dropped frequencies on SFO-MEX and dropped SFO-GDL completely.

French Bee have a dense seating configuration. TAP isn’t nonstop. Norse have terrible timings on the eastbound. If the other seven airlines are making money on this route, then why can’t an eight entrant have a chance?
