Re: Air Canada adds YUL-YXU, YUL-YQG

AC is definitely building YUL as an alternative, less crowded, hub to complement YYZ. Exactly. It complements well YYZ as it now offers more French-speaking international destinations. Otherwise, those passengers would probably have flown with Air France/KLM etc. We now need to further extend domes...

Re: Domestic US Routes You're Surprised Aren't Flown

I think it's quite surprising that some of the old, regional routes out west that have gone away have not been replaced. Someone already mentioned PSP-SAN. I think PSP-LAS is quite a big hole. It was flown up until very recently by Skywest until the retirement of the EMB120s. That is a long (and not...

It would be nice to see some more westward flights out of BDL. Potentially DL to SLC or SEA? Though gate space would probably be an issue at both airports... PHX on either AA or WN could also work. Both SLC (DL) and PHX (HP, then US) have been flown in the past.

I don't think slots are much of an issue at JFK, outside of peak times. As long as AA continues offering their core destinations in Europe, there probably won't be many slots that they'll feel compelled to protect. You won't see any "squatting" with Eagle flights upstate to keep slots at 1...

DL has really re-built their presence at MCO, though using a very different strategy than the P2P and regional routes of the past. Yes, DL has done ATL-BOI in the past with a 738. It was around 2005 at least. I remember seeing it at the gate when I was passing through ATL right before Christmas.

DL tried some longer, thinner routes out west from ATL around this time. ATL-PSP and ATL-BUR come to mind.
