The ILS 13L was being used for low ceilings. They were below minimums for the Parkway Visual (actual name of approach) and RNAV Z.

I'm astonished at the number of people that think an ATCer can just plug in and just work anywhere. It's not even a guarantee when it's done intra-facility. In the past, numerous ZNY Oceanic controllers have transferred to Domestic ZNY Areas and have washed out.

ZRH ops have been reduced to 20 per hour, when they're usually 35-40. You'd think with those numbers, there was some kind radar failure. It's just flow control/capacity management. Pretty pathetic in my opinion.

I'm hearing word that HB-JHF (A333) operating NBO-DAR was struck on the taxiway by a Turkish Cargo aircraft near the holding point for runway 06. I'm not exactly sure of the circumstances or extent of the damage.

Just watched AA65 fly over my house for the last time. It's very sad for me since AA64 was my first ever long haul flight. Over the years, I've nonreved many times on 64/65. Sad to see it go! Maybe in the future the route will come back on a 787 or 797.

Whatever route you go, make sure you are medically/physically qualified. I had my hopes crushed after doing really well on the ASTB for the Navy, only to be anthropometrically disqualified for SNA and NFO.

Departure routes out of NYC were affected by weather on Friday 5/19. When departure fixes are heavily restricted, airlines/ATC usually opt to reroute out fixes/sectors without weather/in-trail restrictions. This was the case last Friday.

I played the video frame by frame and it appears they didn't even land on the pavement. At the point of touchdown the aircraft is completely off the left side of the runway. All the articles/information I've read said they landed and then exited the runway.

A lot of people say the 757 is "treated as a heavy" when, in actuality, it's in its own special category. In the US we have super, heavy, 757, large and small. Depending on the scenario with the preceding/trailing aircraft, a heavy and a 757 have different required separation.

It's interesting to note that in the audio I listened to, not only did the controller not issue a hold short (until it became clear they were crossing), but he never gave the BWA flight taxi instructions after vacating 22L. Although, it is not apparent if any transmissions/dead air were cut out.
