Most realistic routes would be BWI-LGW or BWI-CDG. If Norwegian attempted IAD-ARN, I can easily see UA or SK countering that with their own IAD-ARN flight.

It seems that their Medium-Long term plan is: 737/DH8 for Short Haul & Domestic 788 for Regional/Mid-Haul (<7 hours) 789 for Long & Thin 350 for Long & Heavy demand 77L will be kept for similar missions as 789 77W will stay for Heavy routes until the 77X or 35K is decided on and arrives.

Funny how about 14 years ago when Ghana Airways was going tank, ET was willing to purchase it and help establish a fresh start for the airline. Ghana's govt refused to accept that deal, but now Ghana is allowing ET TATL flights from ACC and is in inviting ET to help start a new airline.

ET is working with LH Group to develop a JV , so if it gets approved we will likely see these routes started. In particular, MUC-ADD is glaring hole that I see being filled soon; especially as LH is trying to develop MUC.

Certain African routes may be profitable, but BA would rather use precious slots on North America expansion where it would even more profitable. Hence why BA dropped some of those Africa/ME routes the minute it acquired BMI

NYC-ADD nonstop will probably start soon after ET analyzes how KQ is doing on the market. It's definitely a missing hole for ET, as their current EWR schedule is mainly target for the LFW/ABJ bound passenger and arrives in ADD at night which is atypical for connection flows.

CAN seems like a glaring hole in their network, then KUL or SGN. MNL is notoriously low yielding, unless they plan on using for Eurowings for that service there is no way they can compete with the heavy ME3 service plus heavy VFR nature of the market.

CityLine A340 will all be sent to Eurowings at that point so LH needs to replace those routes with A330s or Mainline A340-300s. Also, Lufthansa seems to be on a growth spur so it likely needs the -300 as way to start new routes.

I believe that the West African stops were introduced as a way for ET to experiment with the New York market. Within the next few years, I'm certain that ET will launch a NYC-ADD nonstop in addition to its current 1-stop ops.

While I don't have any data to back this up, I would assume CAN, LHR, DXB, JNB, LOS, and IAD are top money makers for the airline. All of the above mentioned cities receive A350 or 77W on a regular basis, and for the exception of LOS all have strong or decently strong O&D to ADD which is favorab...

Key factors that support ET's YYZ's numbers include:
1) YYZ has strong demand to ADD (large Ethiopian diaspora in GTA), this results in profitable O&D
2) Lack of strong ME3 competition
3) ET uses YYZ as a hub to connect to other Canadian and U.S. destinations.

EK's next moves in America will likely be (in no particular order):
1) DFW upgauge to A380
2) LAX gets 2nd Daily (it maybe a 77W)
3) BOS may go back to 2nd Daily
4) ORD upgauges to A380 or gets a 2nd daily

I doubt SEA will get its 2nd daily back, if anything EK will launch a new destination.

I think Manchester would make the most sense in terms of UK expansion. Short term, they may add LGW , but as long as they can grab their hands on an additional LHR slot they'll gravitate towards that.

Maybe after MAN, we can see BHX. I cannot see the market for a Scotland flight
