Re: End of an era: Last Qantas 747 retired today

End of an era, certainly one of the most iconic airline/aircraft pairings to grace the skies. I was fortunate enough to fly on OEJ whilst it was painted up as "Wunala" in 2006 when I was 10. That trip helped energize my passion for aviation and it feels full circle to watch it depart for t...

MCT-YVR? You've got to be kidding. Hardly any traffic or ties of any sort between Oman and BC. What can WY offer that the ME3 don't? Relatively little but under the current agreement EK can't add YVR and EY aren't in a position to expand. I guess if Oman wanted to try and tap into the connections m...

There are very few airlines let alone routes where this would offer a better business case than revenue cargo, this reminds me of the Boeing loft they floated when the 747-8 was nearing EIS. Of course that idea didn't go anywhere, this may have mild success with a few niche operators but in this day...

The 78J is probably the best TATL bird in the world right now. The economics are truly outstanding, which is probably why UA and BA ordered it. I could see ORD -FRA and EWR-FRA for starters.
