AA has NO A339s on order, they have A350s have have deferred that order twice so far and is contemplating ordering more A350s or canceling them.Jump to post
Most major companies in their corporate security departments now have employees who monitor social media posts involving their employees.
A major Power Company has a whole department dedicated to this.
Delta is trying to censor their employees from talking about unionizing, which is protected by Federal Law, IE the Railway Labor Act. There are currently two organizing drives going on at Delta, the IAM is organizing Ramp and Flight Attendants. The IAM General Counsel already fired off a legal lette...Jump to post

Dont forget they could also do a National Airlines livery as Pan Am bough them, and NW did buy Republic also,
But I doubt they will do any heritage liveries as they only did it once I believe.

Can we add this to the million 757 threads?
Hey will they build a new Wright Flyer too?
These threads are a waste of bandwidth.
There is a reason why the airline industry has the highest percentage of unionized workers. Ask the former NW fleet service how they did in bankruptcy vs their peers at DL. I was an IAM member and rep for over 20 years and negotiated at US and CO, Unionized workers keep the company profitable and ha...Jump to post
Here we go again. There is no 757 line, the tooling and machinery have all been destroyed and other plane lines were put in its place. The plane is not technologically advanced anymore like the newer generation of planes. And airlines are retiring them due to their age, not extending their lives any...Jump to post
I always find it weird that PHL doesn't even have 1 TPAC flight. IIRC, when Japan was issuing authorities in the late 90s, didn't US get a right to serve Tokyo from PHL. They didn't have an aircraft capable, so it never happened. Same with TWA from STL No it was PIT-TYO, which was awarded, but we d...Jump to post
The presentation today made it seem like it won’t be possible until the maintenance teams are integrated. It’s what’s keeping the 767 from flying transatlantic out of PHL at the moment. I would expect to see the A330-300s live out their final days flying South American runs out of MIA. The lack of ...Jump to post
Guess you havent heard of oncall maintenance? More flights go to a non-maintenance station then a maintenance station in the US airline industry. On call maintenance means there isn't a mechanic working for the airline meeting the plane. It doesn't mean there is no maintenance support available at ...Jump to post
Colonial has a second pipeline from Lake Charles, LA they can use to feed CLT, my friend works for them.
Also a bigger problem is the second largest refinery in the US is in Houston and it has shutdown and will be down for at least two weeks.
Ultimately I think the AA widebody fleet will consist of A350-900, 787-8,9 and maybe an order for the -10, the 772/3. The 332 and 772 will be replaced with 787/350 and those aircraft can then replace 763. The 359 can eventually replace the 772 on longer routes and the 78J would be a good fit on sho...Jump to post

You do realize it was Republic, not United?Jump to post
The same storm system came through CLT, AA had no issues except the normal ones.
I know plenty of crews at DL and they all stated the system crashed, you had FAs in airports for almost two days with no hotels.
DL couldnt find their crews, as the scheduling system failed.
AA is not getting out of their A359 order, they delayed it too next year.
They will be replacing the 333s that will be retired, 757s, and 763s.

DL posted a letter today that the media reported the crew legalities wrong, and ato, dmitted they lost control over crew scheduling. "Crap, look at what's happening to Oscar over at UA. Ed, you better just come clean today rather than hope this all blows over." The difference between a go...Jump to post
We had the same storm system come through CLT, did you see this happen to AA? Nope, and CLT is the second largest hub in the AA system. DL lied, their crew scheduling system failed, its slowly leaking out. DL lied so they blamed it on weather so they wouldnt have to compensate all stranded passengers.Jump to post
Rumor has it their Crew Scheduling System crashed, their are horror stories about Flight Attendants being stranded without food and hotel rooms and unable to contact crew scheduling. DL has the audacity asking employees to come to work and volunteer for no pay to clean up this mess. Once again DL fa...Jump to post

AA is going to the Phase Check maintenance, where planes get overnight in depth checks most have a C1 through C12 check, the majority are overnight. These checks need a hangar as he work is suppose to be done inside. This hanger is to do line maintenance work, as the planes sit for an extended time between flights.
It will be staffed with foreign based AA mechanics, no outsourcing, not job loss.
Just like AA has maintenance in LHR, FRA and other foreign cities.

Thanks, Acey! It was a clear violation of the day/night transition requirements of the ABX CBA, and 1224 of course wasn't cooperative in wiorking something out, which was why it went to ATI. Nice to see that the matter was handled professionally and in everybody's best interests. I fail to see how ...Jump to post
